Mr. Yuan Yutang is an outstanding representative in the field of contemporary Chinese watercolor painting, and his artistic career carries rich creative experience and outstanding artistic achievements. Born in Qingdao in 1950, he graduated from Qingdao Institute of Education, majored in fine arts, and later studied at the Advanced Seminar on Watercolor Painting at the China Academy of Art, became a member of the Chinese Artists Association, and held many important positions, such as the judge of the 6th National Art Exhibition and the director of the Creation Center of the Art College of Qingdao University of Science and Technology.
Yuan Yutang's artistic creations are mainly watercolor paintings, and his works are fresh and elegant, full of strong traditional Chinese painting atmosphere, but also lacking in modernity and personal aesthetic pursuit. He is good at capturing the charm of nature, and his work "Morning Mist of Shijiu Port" shows the tranquility and vitality of the fishing village in the morning fog with its delicate brushstrokes and unique light and shadow expression; "Laoshan North Jiushui" interprets the beauty of Qingdao Laoshan and the clarity of Beijiushui through the fluidity and transparency of watercolors.

Yuan Yutang was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province in October 1950. He graduated from Qingdao Institute of Education in 1982 with a major in fine arts, and in 1999 from the China Academy of Art advanced seminar in watercolor painting. He is currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, deputy director of the Watercolor Art Committee of the Shandong Artists Association, president of the Qingdao Watercolor Painting Association, a judge of the 6th National Art Exhibition of Shandong Province, and the director of the Art Creation Center of the School of Arts of Qingdao University of Science and Technology.
The watercolor painting "Morning Mist of Shijiu Port" was selected for the 6th National Art Exhibition; The watercolor painting "Years" was selected for the 8th National Art Exhibition; The watercolor painting "Laoshan North Jiushui" was selected for the 9th National Art Exhibition.
