"I eat 300 lychees a day, and I don't want to be a Lingnan person. Outside the body is a red quilt, light gauze and brocade jade tuan. The entrance is luscious, and the fragrance of teeth and cheeks is rare in the world. On the afternoon of the 27th, in the concert hall of the Beijiao Cultural Center, a Cantonese opera tune "Eating Lychees" opened the curtain on the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Beijiao Town Opera Association and the Beijiao Town Opera Art Society.
As we all know, Cantonese opera is a national intangible cultural heritage with a history of hundreds of years. It has a deep mass foundation in Shunde and is a household name. Founded on July 28, 1997, Beijiao Quyi Society, formerly known as Beijiao Quyi Team, the first quyi performance group in Beijiao, currently has nearly 30 members. Since its establishment, the Beijiao Opera Art Society has often sent opera to the countryside to perform in villages and nursing homes, and participated in special Cantonese opera activities sponsored by the Beijiao Town Mission, Education, Culture and Sports Office and the Beijiao Opera Association in the Beijiao Cultural Space every holiday to spread the charm of Cantonese opera.
When the classic Cantonese opera repertoire such as "The Palace of Eternal Life on July 7th", "The Beacon of the Western Regions", "The Dream of the Mountains and Rivers", "The Dream of the Garden", "The Wrong Meeting in the Flower Field" and "The Iron Palm Rejects Tenderness" were sung one after another, the Cantonese opera fans present were moved and applauded.
"Elegance never goes out of style, and Cantonese opera nourishes our lives with its unique charm. I hope to cultivate more Cantonese opera lovers in the future, so that Cantonese opera can be spread and carried forward by the younger generation. Guo Shaomei, vice chairman of the Shunde District Quyi Association and president of the Beijiao Town Quyi Association, said.
In fact, the Beijiao Town Opera Association and the Beijiao Town Quyi Society are gradually growing every year, and in 2004, a children's training base was established to establish the Children's Cantonese Opera Association, which has cultivated hundreds of Cantonese opera bones and incubated nearly 1,000 small opera fans silently.
