Intangible cultural heritage is the soul of a nation, carrying the genetic code of a nation's continuous and multiplied existence. At present, there are 58 representative items of intangible cultural heritage (including 1 national project, 6 provincial projects, 17 municipal projects, and 34 district level items), and 61 representative inheritors (including 1 national representative inheritor, 5 provincial representative inheritors, 10 municipal level and 45 district level inheritors). To this end, the Xishan District Media Center has launched a special column "Xishan · Intangible Cultural Heritage Guardians" to continuously report on the outstanding intangible cultural heritage inheritors in Xishan District and show the charm of Xishan's intangible cultural heritage.
Today, we would like to introduce to you Zhang Hequn, the folk inheritor of the district-level intangible cultural heritage project from the Gulian community of Biji Street.
The breeze blows lightly in the bamboo forest, and the bamboo leaves whisper into poems
In this natural melody
There is a technique that uses bamboo as a pen
Weaving the art of life – that is
Zhang Hequn's world of bamboo weaving
Part 01.
Material selection
In the verdant depths of Gulian Community, Biji Street, Xishan District,
Zhang Hequn walks through the bamboo forest
Every piece of bamboo needs to be identified by his discerning eyes
Straight and tenacious, it can become a precious canvas in his hands
This is not only the strict demand for materials, but also the insistence on quality
Part 02.
|Break the scorn|
Peeled, torn and broken
Every stroke is precise and powerful
After countless splits and polishing
The bamboo has been transformed into countless slender and uniform bamboo strips
Part 03.
Weaving |
Shuttle, weave, knot
The strip seemed to be given life in his hands
Back baskets, dustpans, baskets, bamboo baskets
Bamboo crafts of different shapes are gradually taking shape
Part 04.
Polishing|
The preliminarily formed bamboo weaving also needs to be carefully polished
Zhang Hequn holds a tool
Carefully remove possible burrs and rough surfaces
Make the surface of bamboo weaving smooth to the touch
Part 05.
|Cleaning|
Gently flick the fine dust and wipe it carefully
Bamboo weaving after cleaning
It retains the natural charm of bamboo
It adds a bit of warm touch
In the Gulian community of Biji Street, Xishan District, Zhang Hequn's name is closely associated with "weaving goods". This skill has been passed down in his family for generations, and every rustle of bamboo strips is a tribute and continuation of tradition. He knows that bamboo weaving is not only a display of skills, but also a cultural inheritance.
For decades, the veteran craftsman has chosen the materials himself to ensure that each piece can bear the weight of time. His bamboo weaving craftsmanship is excellent and affordable, and he is deeply loved in the local area.
He often said: "As long as there are people who like bamboo weaving, I will continue to weave it." This insistence is not only the adherence to the culture, but also the expectation for the future.
Let's walk into the world of bamboo weaving by Zhang Hequn, feel the gift from nature, and experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage folk traditional crafts.
