On the 27th, the 14th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Vientiane, and Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended and delivered a speech. Wang Yi sternly refuted the so-called concerns expressed by some countries about stability in the Taiwan Strait, stressing that the Taiwan issue is 100 percent China's internal affair. He pointed out that the biggest challenge to the current situation in the Taiwan Strait comes from the "Taiwan independence" separatist activities on the island and the interference and sabotage of external forces, especially United States.
In addition to the continuation of China's civil war, the Taiwan issue has also been an important reason for the gross interference of external forces led by the United States, which has also led to the two sides of the strait falling into a special state of long-term political antagonism. At the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Wang Yi criticized United States by name, pointing out the harm of the US side playing the "Taiwan card" at three levels.
The first is to seriously hurt Sino-US relations. The Taiwan issue is the core of China's core interests and the first red line that cannot be crossed in Sino-US relations. United States series of erroneous words and deeds on the Taiwan issue are a serious hollowing out and deviation from the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiques, and have seriously impacted and harmed the overall situation of bilateral relations.
The second is the serious undermining of regional peace. Wang Yi pointed out that some countries outside the region have formed exclusive "small circles" in the region, creating division and confrontation, undermining regional stability, and seriously undermining ASEAN's centrality and strategic autonomy. Among them, the Taiwan Strait issue and the South China Sea issue are both issues of "China containment" that the US has taken the lead instigating, which have buried deep hidden dangers to regional peace and stability.
Thirdly, it is a serious violation of the general consensus of the international community. There is only one China in the world, and upholding the one-China principle is a universally recognized norm governing international relations. 183 countries in the world, including the United States, have established and developed diplomatic relations with China on the basis of the one-China principle. The United States has turned back the wheel of history by saying one thing and doing another on the Taiwan issue, and is destined to be resisted and opposed by the just forces of the international community.
How to resolve the Taiwan issue is the Chinese themselves, and external forces led by the United States interfere, sabotage and obstruct China's settlement of the Taiwan issue will cast a shadow over regional peace and even world peace. The international community, including ASEAN countries, has widely understood and supported the Chinese people's just cause of opposing "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and striving to complete national reunification. United States' attempt to form gangs and factions in an attempt to "use Taiwan to contain China" is doomed to fail.
Looking at the record of United States playing the "Taiwan card" over the past 70 years and more, it can be clearly found that its methods and ideas for interfering with and undermining peace in the Taiwan Strait are constantly changing. At first, due to the huge gap in military strength between China and the United States, United States frequently wielded a "big stick" on Taiwan-related issues, and US aircraft carriers came to the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait at every turn to show off their military might, and even crossed the Taiwan Strait.
However, with the improvement of the mainland's overall national strength and military modernization, the relevant military actions of the US side have been forced to rein in and begin to find other ways to make things worse. Typical practices include "legal warfare" that hypes up the illegal and invalid so-called "San Francisco Peace Treaty" and maliciously misinterprets UNGA Resolution 2758; to win over Japan, Korea, the Philippines and other countries in the region, as well as Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and other countries outside the region to jointly create a "containment war"; Armed Taiwan with ideas such as "asymmetric warfare" and "porcupine" tactics, and used the method of destroying Taiwan to push the two sides of the strait into the quagmire of war, so as to block the process of China's rise in the "ultimate war......
Every time the US-Taiwan collusion provokes, it will be thwarted by us, and the situation will take a step forward in the direction of a complete settlement of the Taiwan issue; Correspondingly, the deterrent effect of US military hegemony will be weakened by one point, and its image as a bully that will only bring conflict and chaos and destroy prosperity and stability will be strengthened. Those who have attained the Tao will have much help, and those who have lost the Tao will have little help, and a person who has lost the Tao with poor strength, civil strife, and repeated defeats will be even more helpless.
The same dilemma is also embodied in the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island. As a tool for external forces to "contain China," it has completely lost its autonomy in formulating lines and policies based on Taiwan's own interests, and has become a puppet for external forces to seize wealth and undermine peace in the Taiwan Strait. The substantive result of all kinds of "independence" provocations is to urge the mainland side to gradually implement countermeasures in various fields and constantly improve all preparations for the reunification of the motherland.
Whether it is the one-China principle or United States so-called one-China policy, the core of it is one China, and this is the political consensus reached by China and the United States. Wang Yi sternly named United States to urge the US side to return to the original meaning of one China, stop hollowing out the one-China principle, stop "using Taiwan to contain China", and stop supporting and emboldening the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, so as not to cause further serious damage to China-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
The Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affair, and realizing the complete reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration of all Chinese people. Both the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island and the external forces led by United States should clearly understand that China's determination to defend its sovereignty and security interests is unwavering, and there is no room for compromise and concession on the Taiwan issue.
