Have you ever had a bad experience? Can you appreciate the value of being bad? On July 19th, a unique exhibition, "Bad Museum", was held in the Beautiful Workshop of the Beijing Demonstration Center for Disabled Persons. The curators of this exhibition are composed of mentally handicapped youths from the Municipal Vocational Rehabilitation Labor (Pilot) Project for the Disabled, the Municipal Vocational Rehabilitation Labor (Pilot) Project for the Disabled, and the junior and senior high school youth volunteers from the Infinair Autism Academy, Wutong Planet and the Speech Club for Saying Things. More than 20 creative works from the curatorial team and on-site integrated interactive activities created a humorous and interesting space where authentic stories and feelings attracted guests to stop and smile.

This exhibition is the final activity of the "Integration and Co-creation, Building the Future Together" Autism Community Assistance Public Welfare Project, this project focuses on the elderly autism group, 8 junior and senior high school student volunteers and 4 young people with mental disabilities under the guidance of professional teachers, through five days of integrated courses, group development, artistic creation, sports and other forms of in-depth exchanges and cooperation, strengthen the integration of the two sides, build a bridge of understanding and respect, build a long-term support network, not only for the autism group to bring more care and support, It also allows young volunteers to get a comprehensive training in teamwork and social responsibility.

At the opening ceremony of the "Bad Museum", the mentally handicapped youths and volunteers who participated in the public welfare project of the autistic community shared their harvest and insights in the past week. At the scene, 12 art derivatives from the elderly autism group and supporting guests were auctioned, raising a total of more than 5,000 yuan for the autism group, all of which will be managed and used for special public welfare through the Beijing Foundation for the Elderly and the Disabled.

The "Bad Museum" will continue to be exhibited at Xinhua Bookstore Huiai Bookstore for two weeks, in order to raise awareness and attention, tolerance and respect for the elderly autistic community. In the future, the demonstration center will continue to work hand in hand with various disability assistance institutions to serve more disabled people in need of care and support, and jointly draw a more inclusive, harmonious and beautiful social picture.
