Korea

On July 24, the National Radio Research Agency (RRA) issued an announcement announcing the revision of the Notice of Conformity Assessment of Broadcast Communication Equipment, the main revisions include (but are not limited to):

Develop detailed procedures for the "self-conformity conformity" conformity assessment system and reclassify the target equipment;

Develop detailed procedures for reporting and rectifying non-conforming equipment;

Clarification of the designation and agency matters of domestic agents of foreign manufacturers;

Simplify the way conformity assessment marks are marked.

This amendment shall take effect from the date of publication.

1. Enterprise Development Group (ESG)

ESG issued an announcement on July 4 announcing a public consultation on the standard for dual-flush small-capacity toilets with a capacity of up to 4.5/3 liters, as shown in Table 1.

2. Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)

IMDA issued an announcement on July 24: In view of the fact that domestic mobile network operators have announced their withdrawal from the 3G network plan in July last year, IMDA said that if operators can ensure the smooth migration of the remaining 3G users to 4G/5G networks, they can officially withdraw from 3G services from July 31 this year.

Malaysia

1. SIRIM

On July 11, SIRIM announced the update of the temporary type approval requirements for IPv6 cellular devices (terminals/hosts) or other media (such as optical fiber, except Ethernet LAN) without WiFi interface. SIRIM STANDS FOR:

From 10 July, the implementation of the provisional type approval will be extended for a further year until further notice. Accordingly, all new and renewed Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) are valid for a maximum of one year.

During the provisional accreditation period, the applicant may undergo testing at any accredited or approved laboratory and submit a test report for evaluation by SIRIM; IPv6 based on cellular interfaces or other media is fully certified if it meets IPv6 requirements.

2. Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)

On June 1, the MCMC announced that the category allocation of fixed satellite service earth stations and ultra-wideband communication equipment (3400 MHz – 3700 MHz) will be eliminated from June 1, 2025, and the use of this frequency band will be banned.

Bahrain

Bahrain issued a TBT circular through the WTO on July 26, announcing a public consultation on the draft of the "Technical Regulations on Energy Performance, Testing and Labeling Requirements for Electric Clothes Dryers". The deadline for feedback is September 24.

Moldova

On 23 May, the Moldovan government issued a resolution announcing amendments to the Regulations on Energy Efficiency Labelling Requirements for Energy-related Products, which aim to include in its appendices the regulations on energy efficiency labelling of refrigeration appliances, household washing machines and household washer-dryers, light sources, household dishwashers and electronic displays. The amendments will take effect on June 23.

Chile

On June 20, the Ministry of Energy solicited public comments on the draft of the "Technical Report on the Updating of Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards for Household Refrigerators". The deadline for feedback is August 30.

Uruguay

The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines (MIEM) issued the Technical Regulations on the Energy Efficiency of LED Lamps on July 5, which aims to include LED lamps with built-in ballasts in the national energy efficiency labelling system. The law will be implemented in phases from July 5, 2025.

On May 24, MIEM issued an announcement to solicit public comments on the "Technical Regulations on Energy Efficiency Labelling of Incandescent Lamps". The deadline for feedback is July 1.

Tanzania

The Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) published the Minimum Technical Specification for Short-Range Equipment (SRDs) (Version 1.0) on June 25, effective from the date of publication.
