Recently, with the successful completion of the ninth training, the 2024 "Save by Your Side· Full Safety" Community Ambulance (Primary) Full Coverage Training in Wenjiang District, Chengdu has come to an end. The 522 full-time grid workers in the district have successfully held the certificate, and they will be the emergency ambulance personnel who are "ongoing" around the citizens.
The training was jointly carried out by the Red Cross Society of Wenjiang District and the Social Work Department of Wenjiang District Party Committee, and began in March this year and was carried out in 9 batches and lasted for 4 months. The training course not only includes "compulsory courses" such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway foreign body obstruction, trauma bandaging, etc., but also provides targeted "elective courses" based on the work characteristics of grid personnel. For example, in communities with a large number of elderly people, emphasis is placed on teaching the prevention of common diseases and first aid methods for the elderly. In addition, for the grid members of communities along the Jinma River and Jiang'an River, the popularization of flood control knowledge and the training of drowning emergency rescue knowledge were carried out to improve the ability of grid members to quickly deal with emergencies.
The number of sudden cardiac deaths in mainland China is as high as 550,000 every year, and an average of more than 1,500 people die from sudden cardiac deaths every day. According to relevant data, when cardiac arrest occurs, if cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED (automated external defibrillator) are performed within 4 minutes, the probability of successful rescue is up to 90%, and the survival rate is almost zero if first aid is implemented after 10 minutes. Full-time grid workers are active around the citizens, and mastering relevant skills can help to provide timely rescue in the face of emergencies. From this point of view, this training is particularly necessary.
The first-aid skills training of full-time grid personnel is part of the construction of the pre-hospital on-site emergency rescue network system in Wenjiang District. It is reported that Wenjiang District will further carry out emergency ambulance training for micro-grid personnel, and at the same time take the community as the grid management unit and the licensed grid ambulance as the core, and formulate an annual community emergency ambulance training and drill plan to ensure that "craftsmanship does not return" and weave a "protective net" for the life safety around residents.
