Anziranana, Madagascar, 1 Aug (Jiefangjun Bao) -- On 1 August local time, the Chinese Navy's Peace Ark hospital ship, which is carrying out the "Harmony Mission-2024" mission in Madagascar, jointly held a flag-raising ceremony with the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
At about 8 o'clock that day, in the sound of the national anthem, a bright five-star red flag was raised on the hospital ship. The officers and men of the hospital ship lined up in a neat line and saluted solemnly. "This is the first time I've had 'August 1st' overseas. As a member of the mission of Harmony 2024, I feel very honored to be able to bring health and hope to the people of Africa." Wang Jing, a nurse on the hospital ship, said.
Immediately after the flag-raising ceremony, the officers and men of the hospital ship threw themselves into medical service work. Since its launch on June 16, the Peace Ark hospital ship has visited Seychelles, Tanzania and Madagascar, treating nearly 20,000 patients and performing nearly 300 surgeries, which has been well received by the governments and people of the countries visited.
