The best way to introduce a painter is to have his painting present the first impression. So, let's take a look at this painting first – do you have a feeling of being caught up in it?
Are you seeing magic or reality? Is it abstract or figurative? Is it modern or classical? Is it the East or the West? Or is it the vastness of the universe? Or is it the mystery of life?
Perhaps, like me, you are difficult to express clearly for a while. The eye sees as if it were nothing, and as if it were nothing. However, there is indeed a "sense of involvement" in the heart, which is the life of the painting, which expresses the image of life and also shows the power of life.
It is the protagonist of today, Chen Bin, a painter who has come from Chengdu to the international art scene.
As one of the "Most Collectible Chinese Painters in the 21st Century" recommended by 25 art media organizations, including the Asia-Pacific Art Investment Strategy Research Center, the World Chinese Elite Magazine, the Collectors Magazine, and the China Art Media Alliance, Chen Bin has long been well-known throughout the country.
Take a look at Chen Bin's resume:
Born in Chengdu in 1957. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Sichuan Institute of Education, majoring in Chinese painting. He studied at the Chinese Academy of Arts and the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Printmakers Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong International Academy of Painting, a member of the Art Committee of the Sichuan Artists Association, and a winner of the Outstanding Talent Award for Contemporary Chinese Painting of the Ministry of Personnel.

The resume is simple, but the weight is heavy.
I can't help but ask: how many years of accumulation does it take to make a resume wonderful and rich.
Regarding this question, Chen Bin intends to use this life to answer. So, his life is in the painting, and his painting is life.
Zero points are "fate"
The scene goes back to 1970. This year, Chen Bin handed in a blank paper in the art graduation exam in the sixth grade of primary school. He scored zero in the art exam and couldn't graduate successfully. It's hard to imagine that this is where his art began. But it's true. He said that at that time, he just couldn't paint, and he didn't know what to paint.
It was precisely because of this zero score that the head teacher asked him to imprint the painting in his brain and never forgot it. He will always remember that day the teacher called him to the office, handed him a newspaper and a notebook paper, and then taught him to cover the notebook paper on the newspaper and copy the inscription. That was the first painting he completed for the first time, in earnest.
At the end of the 70s, board newspapers were all over the place. There is a math teacher at Big Bend Middle School who is top-notch in running a board newspaper. Mr. Zhou was a graduate of the former Chongqing Southwest Institute of Design, and because of his love for painting, he also opened a free art training class at that time. There are a total of 19 students in this art class, and one of them is Chen Bin, who is in his second year of junior high school. However, he did not learn to paint because he loved drawing, but because "they all went, I thought it was fun, and they went." As a result, I was the worst drawer of the nineteen. Chen Bin said.
It is difficult to say whether the fate of man is inevitable or accidental. But such an accidental follow-up has laid the groundwork for Chen Bin's life.
Although he didn't draw well, he was very interested in the process of Mr. Zhou's drawing of the poster, so he often sat on the crack of the door to watch the teacher draw the poster. When Mr. Zhou found out about this uninvited guest, he did not expel him, but invited him in and watched him openly.
After schoolwork, he began to take the initiative to pick up a brush to draw his favorite heroes, and the more he painted, the more he felt it. At this time, he simply liked to paint, and he never thought about becoming a painter.
Pushed by fate
Later, Chen Bin's life was similar to Chen Danqing - as an intellectual youth, he was sent to Jintang Tuqiao Township, and because he was good at painting, he enjoyed better treatment, and became a "young painter" who painted all the way from the village to the district office and Jintang County. In the past two years, his skills in drawing comics and posters have become more and more solid, but during this period, he only regarded painting as a profession, not art.
"If there's one big dream, it's to be a writer." Therefore, after the resumption of the college entrance examination, Chen Bin applied for the Chinese Department of Southwest Normal University. But for various reasons, he missed out on this profession again.
In 1977, Chen Bin returned to the state-owned enterprise Sichuan Chemical Vocational High School to study, studying chemical analysis, and after graduation, he was assigned to the trade union, and his main business was still painting-related propaganda work.
At that time, the Sichuan Chemical Plant, a very large state-owned enterprise, really cultivated a group of outstanding artistic talents, and Chen Bin was one of them. During his work in the factory, he was sent to Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts for one year of study, and was admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Sichuan Institute of Education.
With the strong support of the enterprise, Chen Bin began to specialize in fine arts. Studying abroad also broadened his horizons, and he got closer and closer to art.
"Some people say that it was a miserable time, and I don't approve of it. I am grateful for the times that sharpened me, and I am also grateful for the support and cultivation of the state-owned enterprise Sichuanhua. Because all experiences are an experience. In this regard, I am the lucky one of my generation, because experience makes people grow faster. Chen Bin's words are full of gratitude, and also with a mature artist's cognition of life.
Judging from the timeline of Chen Bin's life in the first half of his life, as a painter, he was purely pushed by fate to come to this point. But looking at his attainments on the road of Chinese painting, you will sigh: he is destined to become a painter.
Painting, an inner monologue
Chinese painting depicts the heart and mind, which is the artistic presentation of the painter's painting of the heart into the painting environment. From ink painting to heavy color, from Tibetan themes to the Great Life series, Chen Bin's paintings open up a mysterious space for us.
Art critic Chen Yuguang once said, "Chen Bin's artistic value can be summed up in four words: orientation, romance." This point of view can be perfectly demonstrated from Chen Bin's series of works on female themes.
Whether it is a shepherdess girl, a snow girl, or a menstrual woman, you can see the unique presentation of female beauty. The roots of these paintings are still deeply rooted in Chinese painting, but in terms of expression, Chen Bin's thinking and innovation on tradition as a modern painter have gradually been demonstrated.
Richer and richer expressions, more and more clear personal style, have been highlighted in Chen Bin's paintings. In particular, the Quantum Heavy Color series of paintings can make people feel this more deeply.
The fusion of Chinese brushwork and lines with the heavy color of Western oil painting makes Chen Bin's paintings seem to break out of the cocoon of tradition, and each painting is like a wing, opening up a more colorful, more romantic and more mysterious world for the viewer.
Painting, questioning the essence of life
"Since I was 20 years old, I have asked many people what life is. In the end, there are no accurate answers. The living Buddha in Tibet once lectured me on life very seriously, and the doctoral supervisor also explained life to me, including experts and professors in philosophy and physics, who also discussed this topic together, but I found that these are their cognitions, not mine. Is life the sum of information and energy? Or is it the inner accumulation and the external presentation? These personal thoughts and cognitions of life are revealed from my pen. Painting allows me to constantly know myself and return to my true self. This is Chen Bin's interpretation of the style of his works.
As a Chinese painting, Chen Bin's paintings are full of modernity. But often, "the more modern it is, the more it returns to its roots." Because, the kind of dedication to oriental aesthetics in his bones has never changed.
In the world of painting, there are very few people who can pick up a pen and paint, and Chen Bin is one of these very few. For each work, you can do without drafts or drafts, just let your consciousness pull the brush, and freely sway the picture you want to express in your heart. This is Chen Bin, a painter chosen by fate. And he is also based in Chengdu, and has been working in the field of painting art for decades without distraction.
The interpretation of a painting is difficult, and the interpretation of a painter is even more difficult. After all, both of these belong to the realm of "infinite meaning". Albert Einstein said, "The most beautiful thing we have ever experienced is the mystery, which is the source of all true art and science." ”
Perhaps, this is also an interpretation: Chen Bin is conveying the mystery of painting and life through his unique mysterious expression.
