On August 1, 2024, the Fresh Goose Restaurant in Luodian County will be full of military songs, laughter, and excitement! More than 50 comrades-in-arms and military wives who joined the army in December 1974 gathered together to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the 50th anniversary of the enlistment of Luodian comrades-in-arms. The celebration was presided over by Qin's comrades-in-arms and delivered a speech.
A majestic and high-pitched "Military Song of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" brought the comrades-in-arms back to the years when passion was burning! Everyone was full of excitement and emotion, and celebrated the glory of the 97th anniversary of the founding of the army. Recalling the past, the 50 years of comradeship-in-arms are as deep as the sea, one is not afraid of hardship, the other is not afraid of death, the scene of fighting side by side is vivid, the military soul is forever cast, and the friendship lasts forever.
Every heart is burning because of faith, and every love is deep because of defending the country. On this special holiday, we salute all the soldiers and comrades-in-arms who once wore military uniforms! Salute to all the heroes who died heroically!
Fifty years ago, in response to the call of the party and the state, we bravely signed up to join the army and participate in the war, wearing a green uniform, wearing a red star on our heads, and two red flags hanging on the collar. Go where the motherland needs it most. Fight the Xiang (Fan) Chongqing (Chongqing) line, dig through the Wudang Qinba Road, and fly the Hanshui Jialing Bridge.
Fight back in self-defense against Vietnam and defend the borders of the motherland. The construction of the Yan (Zhou) Shi (Jiusuo) railway, Confucius's hometown sprinkled our sweat, left our footprints in the Yimeng Mountains, and built a steel passage to the sea for the old revolutionary area.
50 spring and autumn seasons are just a moment in the long river of history, but we have gone from being in the prime of life to being old. Although the barracks are bitter, the years are like songs, green dreams, and red pursuits. This experience has become one of the most brilliant and colorful pages in our lives.
After fulfilling our obligations and returning to our hometowns, we inherited and carried forward the glorious traditions of the troops, and we will not fade after retiring from the army. With the tenacious style of soldiers who are particularly able to endure hardships and fight, they should build families and start businesses, serve their hometowns and society, make unremitting efforts for the large-scale development of the western region and change the face of poverty in their hometowns, and become the backbone of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization in their hometowns.
Now although the years are old, there is still life, more than struggle, give full play to the residual heat, the old cow knows that the sunset is short, and there is no need to raise the whip to work hard.
The Xiangyu Railway, which we participated in, stretched from Xiangfan (now Xiangyang) in Hubei Province to Chongqing (now a municipality directly under the Central Government) in Sichuan Province through Shaanxi Province in the east. It crosses Wudang Mountain, Qinba Mountain and Zhongliang Mountain. 3 crossed the Han River, 7 crossed the Jiangjun River, 9 crossed the East River, crossed the Hou River 33 times, and crossed the Jialing River in Beibei to reach Chongqing.
The total length is 915.6 kilometers, (including 56 kilometers from Xiangfan to the east of Laohekou, which was completed and opened to traffic in 1960, and 859.6 kilometers were newly built). The mountains and valleys along the line are high and deep, the water flow is turbulent, the cliffs are steep, the terrain is steep, the geology is complex, and the construction difficulty is huge.
Due to the tight time, the task is heavy, and the difficulties are great. The state designated the railway corps to be responsible for the construction. The railway soldiers were ordered to invest in 8 divisions, 6 divisional regiments, 2 independent regiments, 2 independent battalions, and 2 new management offices, with a total of about 240,000 soldiers.
There are also Hubei, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces mobilized more than 590,000 militia and students (called student soldiers) (including 25,800 student soldiers), and the total number of soldiers and civilians was about 830,000 during the peak period of the whole line construction, which is known as the "Second Huaihai Campaign".
The construction of the Xiangyu Railway began in April 1968, the western section was paved to Daxian in August 1971, connected to traffic at Palm Creek Station on October 19, 1973, and delivered for operation from November 1975 to December 1979. It was listed as one of the "Seven Remarkable Projects" of the Railway Corps, and won the National Science Conference Award in 1978.
From the end of 1974 to the army to participate in the construction of the Xiangyu Railway, until December 1979 to put into operation, we fought on the Xiangyu Line for 5 years, this unforgettable experience has become a precious wealth of our life!

The Yanshi Railway we participated in the construction starts from Yanzhou Station in the west to Shijiusuo (today's Zhao Station) in the east. Construction began in April 1981, with a total length of 308 kilometers on the main line, and a total of 105,000 people participated in the construction of the 41st Regiment of the 1st, 4th and 9th Divisions of the Railway Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the 2nd Communication and Signal Battalion of the Railway Corps, the Jinan Railway Bureau and the civilian workers along the line.
Our 1st Division is responsible for the 177-kilometer section from Yanzhou to Linyi, as well as the task of laying tracks and erecting girders along the whole line. In November 1984, the whole line was laid and opened to traffic. The time is tight, the tasks are heavy, the requirements are high, and it is during the period when the railway troops are withdrawn, they have practiced the strict discipline of the people's army to obey orders as its duty, obey the command in all actions, and move in unison to achieve victory, and successfully complete the task.
It was also the last railway built by our First Iron Division in military decoration, and leading comrades such as Wan Li, Li Peng, and Lu Zhengcao successively inspected the Yanshi Line.

The commemorative meeting ended successfully with the majestic song of "Railway Soldiers Aiming at the Quartet". The comrades-in-arms were still unsatisfied, and raised their arms and shouted: Obey the party's command, be able to win battles, and have a good style. If there is a war, it will be recalled!
At the time of parting, the comrades-in-arms were reluctant, wished each other well, and agreed to meet again on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the army!

Li Bifu, a native of Luodian, Guizhou, enlisted in the army in December 1974 and is a statistician of the Communication Engineering Company of the First Iron Division. In December 1979, he was transferred to the division, and in January 1984, he was transferred to the school collectively. He has successively served as a factory director, manager, project manager, and deputy chief economist of the enterprises affiliated to the 11th Bureau of China Railway. He has been awarded the model worker of China Railway 11th Bureau, the outstanding Communist Party member of Hubei State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and the national outstanding project manager.
