This year's weather stage can be described as choppy and constantly in condition. With high temperatures and sporadic rainfall, the twin typhoons are quietly appearing again, and this series of changes makes people's mood feel like a roller coaster.
The high temperature situation on the mainland is simply staggering! The high temperature above 40 degrees continues to refresh the extreme value, and the area of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai has become the core area of the high temperature, and the area covered by the high temperature continues to expand, and other regions have also been affected. The highest temperature in the main urban area of Hangzhou has broken through a new high, reaching an astonishing 41.9°C, which makes people feel as if they are in a huge steamer, and the heat is unbearable.
Previously, some people questioned the mainland's reports on high temperatures above 40 degrees, arguing that there was a situation of non-reporting. The truth is that once the temperature really reaches this level, it will inevitably be truthfully stated. Under the high temperature, the occasional scattered rainfall not only failed to bring effective cooling, but allowed people to experience the taste of "boiling water", which can really be described as dire.
In this complex situation of high temperatures and scattered rainfall, a new variable has emerged - the embryonic double typhoon 91W and 92W are definitely formed. This has given people a glimmer of hope that the typhoon will turn the tide of the heat completely.
Judging by the current situation, the strength of these two typhoon embryos is not strong. The 91W wind speed is 20KT, which is equivalent to 10m/s, and the 92W wind speed is 15KT, which is equivalent to 7.5m/s. However, the development of typhoons is highly uncertain, and its path and intensity are affected by a variety of factors.
According to the EC's forecast, 91W will initially move westward, close to the eastern coast of the continent and weaken. However, when the subtropical high breaks off on August 8, it will show a trend of strengthening again, and it is expected to reach below 1000hpa around August 9 and 10, and it may become the No. 5 typhoon Maria this year. Subsequently, its trend was affected by the subtropical high and became unpredictable.
GFS's prediction of 91W is less clear, and it has been showing that it is a bit of a state of inactivity, and it is also initially westward. As for 92W, the EC believes that it has a certain chance of developing into a typhoon in eastern Japan, and it is unclear whether it will be an extratropical cyclone or a typhoon due to its high latitudes. GFS's designation of 92W is relatively strong, and it is expected to strengthen northward quickly.
In addition to these two typhoon embryos, 2 to 3 more typhoon activities are expected to follow, but it is possible that the tropical disturbance state will disappear alone. The subtropical high has become a key factor affecting the development of typhoons, and it also affects the high temperature situation on the mainland.
In terms of rainfall, the new round of rainfall activities spanned the north and south regions of the mainland, and was more obvious in the northeast, southwest, and north China. There are heavy to heavy rains in 9 provinces and municipalities such as Heijiliao and Shandong, and a small number of places such as Sichuan Basin, Shandong, and Yunnan have heavy rainstorms. However, most of these rainfalls are continuous and scattered, and their cooling effect on high temperature areas is relatively limited.
Since the beginning of this year, a total of 4 typhoons have formed in the Northwest Pacific and the South China Sea, 3.8 fewer than the average of 7.8. Entering August, although the development of typhoons is still uncertain, it is expected that 3-4 typhoons will form in the northwest Pacific and the South China Sea, and 2-3 typhoons will make landfall on the mainland, with a main westward and northwestern path, mainly affecting the coasts of South China and East China, and there may be northward typhoons affecting areas north of the Yangtze River.
In the face of such a complex and volatile weather situation, we cannot afford to take it lightly. Whether it is the continuation of high temperatures or the possible arrival of typhoons, they are closely related to our lives. High temperatures affect people's travel, work and health, and typhoons can bring strong storms, rain and disasters.
For farmers, high temperatures and droughts may affect the growth of crops, and heavy rainfall brought by typhoons may cause floods and affect harvests. For urban residents, the demand for electricity and water at high temperatures has increased significantly, which may lead to a shortage of supply; Typhoons can cause disruption to traffic and damage to infrastructure.
Weather changes affect our lives all the time. We need to pay close attention to the weather forecast and take appropriate precautions and responses. At the same time, we also hope that everyone can enhance environmental awareness and work together to mitigate the effects of climate change and make our weather more stable and pleasant.
The changes in the weather are like the ups and downs of life, full of unknowns and challenges. Let us deal with it with a positive attitude and scientific methods, and believe that we can walk through it strongly, regardless of wind and rain or sunshine. May the weather in the future bring us more peace and beauty.
