CCTV Beijing, August 5 (Reporter Pang Ting) In the early morning, the sky just revealed a faint morning light, the air of the grassland was filled with the fresh smell of soil and flowers intertwined, and an unexpected drizzle quietly came, covering the land with a hazy gauze coat. At 4 o'clock in the morning, when most people were still immersed in sleep, the hard fruit tomato greenhouse in Lamadi Village, Wangyefu Town, Karaqin Banner, Mongolia Chifeng City, was full of busy farmers, picking, weighing, and packing...... About two hours later, the makeshift greenhouse was filled with fresh hard fruit tomatoes, waiting to be purchased by merchants from all over the country. One-third of the tomatoes are sent to Beijing.

In 2006, the town of Wangyefu began to grow hard fruit tomatoes. Over the past 10 years, the town has developed into the largest hard-fruit tomato planting base in North China. In the 2016 National Hard Fruit Tomato Network Selection, Wangyefu Town was rated as the most influential "Chinese Tomato Township". Up to now, the town has concentrated on the construction of more than 10,000 acres of hard fruit tomato plantations such as Lamadi Village, covering 23 of the 24 villages in the town, with a total area of 25,000 mu of cold sheds.
Located in the gold quality production belt of agricultural products at 41 degrees north latitude, Karaqin Banner has the advantages of strong water and fertilizer retention capacity, rich trace elements, and suitable pH, and is one of the best places to plant tomatoes. These natural conditions and production environment make the tomatoes of Karaqin Banner have the characteristics of positive fruit shape, smooth fruit surface, moderate sweet and sour, and strong storage resistance.

Zhou Yahui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wangyefu Town, introduced that as of now, the town has an annual output of 320,000 tons of tomatoes, a direct output value of 1.3 billion yuan, and an average income of more than 15,000 yuan per mu. Tomatoes are mainly sold to Beijing, Shanghai and other cities. In the harvest season, it can drive the employment of 3,000 people in the surrounding area, radiate the employment of tens of thousands of people in the whole banner, and radiate the surrounding economic benefits of 300 million yuan. "When it comes to the tomato picking season, everyone knows that there is a shortage of manpower in Lama Village, not only the villagers of Wangyefu Town, but also the villagers of many surrounding towns and villages will come to work." Meng Liping said.
In 2011, since the launch of a new round of Beijing-Mongolia counterpart assistance cooperation, Beijing has provided 232 million yuan of assistance funds for Karaqin Banner and 121 million yuan for Xicheng District, of which about 13 million yuan has been directly used for the development of hard fruit tomato industry.
The huge market demand in Beijing also provides a broad sales channel for tomatoes in Wangyefu Town, where Beijing has a large population and a huge demand for fresh, high-quality agricultural products. With its excellent quality, the hard fruit tomatoes in Wangyefu Town have successfully entered the Beijing market and are deeply loved by consumers. At the same time, some enterprises in Beijing are actively cooperating with Wangyefu Town to invest in the construction of modern planting bases and cold chain logistics facilities to further enhance the industrial scale and competitiveness of hard fruit tomatoes.
Nowadays, in many supermarkets and agricultural and sideline product markets in Beijing, you can see the hard fruit tomato of Karaqin Banner, and the small tomato has become a bridge connecting the emotional and collaborative development of Beijing and Mongolia.
Beijing enterprises help the "tomato town" industrial upgrading
From financial support to industrial support, from "one-way assistance" to "two-way travel", as Beijing-Mongolia cooperation enters the "2.0 era", many enterprises in Beijing choose to implement domestic Mongolia development to help upgrade local characteristic industries. In Jinshan Town, which is more than 70 kilometers away from Lamadi Village, there is a 3,000-square-meter modern agricultural industrial park - Chifeng Hongfu Modern Agricultural Industrial Park.
Before entering the industrial park, you must go through three "disinfections", pass through three gates, wash your hands three times, and even clean the soles of your shoes, in order to ensure the healthy growth of tomatoes.

This grape-like bunch of small tomatoes is an infinitely growing tomato selected by Hongfu Group, which is cultivated without soil, and the growth period can last for 10 to 12 months, which can basically achieve year-round periodic production, and the first tomatoes will be marketed around August 10.

In 2022, Beijing Hongfu Group will follow the deployment of "Beijing-Mongolia Cooperation" and invest in the construction of Chifeng Hongfu Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Longshan Village, Jinshan Town, which is positioned as a primary, secondary and tertiary industry integration development project integrating modern agriculture, leisure experience, hot spring health care and other functions. At present, in the first phase of the project, 100,000 square meters of intelligent multi-story glass greenhouses have been put into use.
"We have introduced leading facility agriculture enterprises in Beijing, and adopted high-standard workshop production to keep tomato growth away from diseases, and even workers have to change into special work clothes before they can go to work." Wang Yongtai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinshan Town, Karaqin Banner, introduced.

Zhang Zhijun, general manager of Chifeng Hongfu Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that the intelligent environmental control system used in the greenhouse can adjust and control all kinds of hardware in the greenhouse according to the changes in temperature, humidity, light, carbon dioxide and outdoor temperature and humidity and wind speed collected in the greenhouse, so as to ensure that the temperature in the greenhouse adapts to the growth needs of tomatoes. "The quality and yield of tomatoes grown in such an environment are far superior to those grown in ordinary ways."

After the "Hongfu persimmon" in the industrial park is listed, it is mainly sold to large supermarkets such as Sam's and Hema in Beijing, and it must go through strict selection from product selection to packaging before it enters the "vegetable basket" of Beijing citizens. "Our tomatoes sell for 30 yuan per catty, 1 square meter can produce 40 catties, the output value of 1 square meter is 1,200 yuan, and the output value of 1 mu of land is about 800,000 yuan." Wang Yongtai calculated that 100,000 square meters is about 150 acres of land, which requires about 100 workers to work, and the per capita income can be increased by 50,000 yuan. When the first phase of the project is fully put into operation, about 300 local laborers can be employed. The project also issued 66 million yuan in land transfer fees, benefiting 1,730 people, with an average income increase of 38,000 yuan, and about 150 local workers were also employed during the construction period, with an average annual income of 75,000 yuan.
"We hope to take advantage of the market advantages and brand effect of Beijing Hongfu Group to promote the high-quality green agricultural products of Karaqin Banner led by the 'Hongfu Persimmon' brand to enter the capital market and help rural revitalization." Wang Yongtai said.
In 2024, 54.07 million yuan of Beijing-Mongolia assistance funds will be invested in Karaqin Banner, and 14 projects will be implemented, all of which have been started. Under the cooperation of Beijing and Mongolia, one project after another has blossomed in the land of Mongolia, groups of people have steadily increased their income, and Beijing's advantageous resources have taken root here, giving birth to new vitality, and the two places are working together towards a broader future.
