At about 17 o'clock yesterday (4th) afternoon, a traffic accident occurred on the A1 highway near the central city of Arezzo in Italy, and a tourist bus carrying Chinese tourists crashed into the highway guardrail, resulting in 1 death and 25 injuries.
According to Italy Rainews, Ansa and Lanazione, yesterday afternoon, the tourist bus carrying 25 Chinese tourists had an accident about 360 kilometers from Florence on the A1 highway. The vehicle loses control and leans into the right lane and hits the guardrail.
The impact at the scene was very violent, and the highway guardrail broke like a sharp sword piercing the bus compartment. One person in the car died instantly.
According to the report, the aura of terror immediately permeated the A1 motorway, and a mournful shout came from the car window.
"Tourists tried to escape from the bus, their eyes full of fear. We are nearing the end of the world before our eyes. A rescue worker said.
After the accident, three helicopters, 14 ambulances, as well as medical vehicles, nursing vehicles, and fire trucks were dispatched to the scene.
Rescuers put a ladder on the window of the car to rescue the trapped tourists.
A firefighter picked up a girl and handed her to the medical staff in the ambulance, before returning to the bus to rescue others.
According to reports, one person was killed and 25 injured in the accident, two of whom were taken to hospital by helicopter with serious injuries.
The president of the Tuscan regional government, Eugenio Giani, announced on social platforms last night that the injured were sent to hospitals in Siena, Arezzo and Valdarno with red, green and yellow codes for treatment. Among the injured were three minors.
"Some weep, some mourn, and some still have the fear in their eyes when they see the death of their friends and companions." Another rescuer said late yesterday night. By this time, all the wounded had been properly accommodated.
After the accident, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Florence immediately activated the consular protection emergency mechanism, contacted the local police and other departments to carry out emergency response to the accident, and coordinated with relevant departments to properly accommodate the Chinese tourists who suffered from the accident.
According to the Consulate General, one Chinese tour guide died in the accident.
According to reports, the driver of the tour bus was a Poland driver.
The local prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the accident as a road murder.
According to the latest news, most of the injured tourists have been discharged from the hospital today.
