Recently, the science reporter of "Knowledge is Power" checked in to the Chinese Scientists Museum, listened to the voice of China's scientific and technological development in the exhibits, and witnessed the shining spirit of scientists.
The "Father of the Dragon" who built a dream of the deep sea
Xu Jinnan, a technical expert in deep submersibles, is the chief designer of Jiaolong.
He has devoted his life to the study of deep-sea submersible technology, and is known as the "father of Jiaolong" who dreams of building deep-sea dreams.

He is one of the first batch of talents trained by the mainland for deep-sea research and development, and he has witnessed the development of China's submarine science from scratch from the initial ship service soldier to the leader of scientific research.
In 2002, Xu Jinnan served as the chief designer of Jiaolong, a 7,000-meter manned submersible designed and developed by the mainland, and was the founder of the mainland's deep submersible development.
The research and development of deep submersibles is a world-class scientific and technological problem. For a long time, the mainland has gained something from "going to the sky" and "entering the earth", but "going to the sea" has been fruitless.
Xu Jinnan refused to admit defeat, and he led the team to build China's first pressure cylinder equipment in only three years.

The Jiaolong manned submersible has been developed since 2002 and made its first dive in 2014.

It is the first deep-sea manned submersible designed by the mainland, independently integrated and developed, and with independent intellectual property rights.
Jiaolong has the functions of deep-sea prospecting, high-precision topographic surveying of the seabed, detection and capture of deep-sea suspicious objects, and deep-sea organisms.

Although the mainland's research on manned submersibles started relatively late, the breakthroughs and achievements it has made in recent years have attracted worldwide attention.
In the case of a long-term technological blockade, the mainland has successively carried out the development of the Jiaolong, the Deep Sea Warrior, and now the Struggler manned submersible, so that the mainland's manned submersible technology has gradually reached the world-class level.
Visiting the Museum of Chinese Scientists, I learned about the story of Xu Jinnan and Jiaolong, which touched the little reporter of Zhili Science deeply, come and listen to their voices about the museum!

Carry forward the spirit of scientists and tell the stories of scientists. Hello everyone, I am Kang Jingyi, a science reporter from "Knowledge is Power".
Today I came to visit the Chinese Scientists Museum, and I was greatly shocked by the many exhibits here, among which I was most impressed by the story of Grandpa Xu Jinnan and the Jiaolong manned submersible.
Grandpa Xu is an outstanding scientist in the field of deep diving in mainland China. With infinite enthusiasm and firm belief in deep-sea exploration, he led the team to overcome many difficulties and successfully developed the Jiaolong manned submersible.
In the process of development, they faced many challenges, such as technical difficulties, lack of funds, lack of experience, etc. But they never gave up. Constantly experimenting, improving, innovating, experiencing countless failures, but still moving forward.
Finally, the Jiaolong manned submersible was successfully launched and set an amazing record for diving deeper than 7,000 meters! It gives us a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the deep sea.
From the story of Xu Jinnan's grandfather, we can get a lot of inspiration.
First of all, it is necessary to have firm conviction and indomitable spirit. No matter how difficult it is, you can't give up easily, and you must believe that as long as you persevere, you will be able to succeed.
Second, we must have the spirit of innovation. In the face of unknown fields, we must dare to try new methods and ideas, and continue to explore and break through.
Finally, teamwork is crucial. The success of Jiaolong is not the credit of one person, but the result of the concerted efforts of the whole team.
I want to take Grandpa Xu Jinnan as an example, bravely face challenges in study and life, strive to pursue my dreams, and contribute to the prosperity and strength of the motherland!
The Museum of Chinese Scientists is the first large-scale comprehensive museum in China with the theme of scientists, integrating the functions of "collection, collection, research, display, education and publicity", aiming to display the image of Chinese scientists and promote the spirit of scientists.
We will continue to release the content of related activities of the Chinese Museum of Scientists, so stay tuned, welcome to visit!
