On August 5, Guangming District's 2024 "Into Science City" research activity was "launched", and about 400 students from 12 schools participated in the first phase of the activity.
The event was hosted by the Guangming District Education Bureau and co-organized by the Social Work Department of the Guangming District Party Committee, relying on the two characteristics of Science City: scientific and technological innovation and ecological resources. In order to meet the growth needs of Guangming students of different school ages, the organizers have carefully created three research routes: "Into Bright Nature", "Into Sun Yat-sen University" and "Into Big Scientific Devices", which correspond to the fifth and sixth grades of primary school, junior high school and high school. The three research routes cover 10 bases such as the Shenzhen Campus of Sun Yat-sen University and the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, which are rich in content and cutting-edge, and have launched a pure public welfare and quality research brand.
During the four days from August 5th to 8th, more than 1,600 Guangming students set off in batches and routes to study, see the natural scenery of Guangming Science City, listen to popular science lectures by scientists, etc., and start a dialogue with science and ecology in the hot summer vacation, and feel the happiness brought by growing up in Guangming Science City.
Recently, the weather has been hot, and each research team has an accompanying school doctor, and the activities are divided into indoor and outdoor scenes. During the lunch session, the organizer also prepared herbal tea for the students to clear away heat and detoxify, so that they could fully enjoy the fun of the research process in a safe and comfortable environment.

In this activity, the fifth and sixth grade students of Guangming District Primary School participated in the "Into Guangming Nature" research route, covering the three research bases of Hongqiao Nature Education Center, Left Bank Science and Technology Park and Digital Sanitation Science Education Center, integrating interesting science popularization and nature experience. Although the weather was hot, the students maintained a high level of enthusiasm for the study and competed to participate in the experience.
Among them, Hongqiao Nature Education Center can provide a variety of educational activities and experiences, including eco-walking, animal and plant observation, environmental protection workshops, etc., to help students better grasp environmental protection knowledge and concepts, and understand and appreciate the beauty of nature. The Left Bank Science and Technology Park is equipped with colorful covered bridges, science and technology exhibition halls, clear artificial lakes and other facilities, where students can explore the Maozhou River and have an interactive experience of water quality measurement. The Digital Sanitation Science Education Center is the first multi-dimensional and integrated low-carbon life science popularization hall in Shenzhen, where students can explore the classification and have an interactive experience of smart sanitation.
The advanced digital media technology display methods and diversified educational activities in the three research bases allow children to unconsciously grasp the knowledge and concepts of ecological and environmental protection under the guidance of curiosity and interest, so as to better understand and appreciate the beauty of nature and practice low-carbon life.
Huang Tao, a student who participated in the study, said that this activity not only allowed him to learn the knowledge of garbage classification, ecological protection, planning and construction of Guangming Science City, but also made him feel that he can be close to nature and integrate with science and technology in Guangming Science City.

The research route of "Entering Sun Yat-sen University" is mainly for seventh and eighth grade students in Guangming District. It is understood that the research route of "Entering the Big Science Device" is mainly for high school students in Guangming District, and the research bases include Shenzhen Bay Laboratory and Shenzhen Brain Science and Technology Industry Innovation Center. Research is not only a simple activity to go out of the campus, but also an important process to broaden your horizons and enrich your experience. In the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, students entered the "Mysterious Base" to observe the process of scientists doing experiments up close...... The familiar but distant words fully attracted everyone's interest. At the Shenzhen Brain Science and Technology Industry Innovation Center, researchers introduced the knowledge of brain science innovation to the children, fully demonstrating the charm of "knowledge applied to science and technology".
Lu Qiaoshan, a teacher from Guangming Senior High School, said that the biggest highlight of this route is science and innovation.
