Ancient Sea Seal
In the Devonian period of the Paleozoic Era, about 360 million years ago, the Stone Forest area was still a part of the ancient sea of Yunnan and Guizhou. About 280 million years ago, in the Carboniferous period, stone forests began to form. The limestone in the sea was constantly washed away by the flow of seawater, leaving behind countless karst ditches and columns. Later, the earth's crust continued to rise and accumulated over a long period of time, and it gradually turned from sea to land.
Fossil marine life - coral
After the sea recedes, it has experienced hundreds of millions of years of scorching sun, rain erosion, weathering, and earthquakes, leaving this magnificent wonder-like wonder. Looking from afar, the branches, one by one, a cluster of huge gray-black stone peaks and stone pillars raise their heads to the sky, pointing directly to the blue sky, like a reckless black forest, so it is called "Stone Forest".
