Hi guys! My name is Li Ming, I'm 34 years old, and I'm from a small city in China. I have parents and a lovely sister at home, and we have a good relationship as a family. Now I work for an environmental organization that focuses on wildlife conservation projects. This trip to South Africa was a rare opportunity in my career, and I was thrilled to see the beautiful wildlife I saw on TV.

When I set foot on South Africa soil, it felt like entering a whole new world. The sun is shining, the air is fresh, and in the grasslands in the distance, a group of wild animals are leisurely foraging. My colleagues had a smile on their faces and were excited like children. I put my bags away and couldn't wait to set off with everyone on our way to our destination for the day – giraffe spotting.

Along the way, the car bumped on the rough dirt road, but I was extremely excited. It's so beautiful to imagine those tall giraffes standing gracefully next to the trees, stretching their necks and eating the young leaves with ease! I had in my mind the shapes of the L-shaped and Z-shaped giraffes I had seen before, and the differences were obvious, but no matter which form, they all looked so charming.

Finally, we reached the observation point. When I looked up, I couldn't help but hold my breath at the sight in front of me: a giraffe with an S-shaped neck was standing not far away, bowing its head leisurely and slowly chewing on grass. It has a slender neck and an elegant body, exuding an air of serenity and confidence.

I couldn't contain my excitement and whispered to my colleague, "Look, that's the S-giraffe!" So beautiful! With that, I quietly took out my camera, trying to capture this moment. However, when I was shooting, I was nervous, for fear of disturbing its dining mood.

As the camera zoomed in, I began to notice the giraffe's demeanor. Its eyes were tender, as if to say to me, "This is my world, and I don't need to be disturbed in any way." "At the same time, I am also aware that as a protector, I have a great responsibility to ensure that this beautiful creature survives healthily in the natural world.

I was immersed in the shocking experience, and the giraffe in front of me seemed to be silently teaching me something. Although they are in danger, they still face life with a calm attitude. Isn't this kind of calmness a pursuit in our lives? Should people who are busy at work every day also learn to find that inner peace like this giraffe?

"Li Ming, come and take a look!" Suddenly, a colleague's shout pulled me back from my thoughts. I hurriedly turned around and saw another colleague pointing to a herd of giraffes in the distance. There are several L- and Z-shaped giraffes that roam the grasslands, occasionally grazing with their heads down and occasionally looking around. I didn't expect South Africa to have such a rich environment, and I am very grateful.

As night fell, we sat around the campfire and shared our experiences of the day. Everyone chatted enthusiastically, and there were bursts of laughter from time to time. I thought to myself that this expedition not only allowed me to see the elegance of giraffes, but also made me feel the strength of the team and the harmony between man and nature.

At this time, I suddenly remembered what my mother once said to me: "No matter how busy your life is, remember to stop and feel the beauty around you." I felt like I had found a deeper meaning in that sentence. In this fast-paced life, it is rare to have such an opportunity to get in touch with nature.

The next day, we continued to observe the giraffes. This time, I decided to put down my phone and devote myself to the scene in front of me. The giraffe is laid-back and doesn't seem to have any stress. Their presence made me feel that life should not always be tight, and that we should learn to enjoy the present moment and cherish the present.

Over time, my mindset has quietly changed. The stress at work, the trivial things in life, seem to become insignificant at this moment. I began to reflect on whether my past pursuits were really worth it. People always think too much, but often ignore the beauty and simplicity around them.

When I returned to Japan, I still think of the S-shaped giraffe from time to time. It reminds me that every day in life I should give myself some breathing space. Instead of dwelling on the uncertainty of the future, slow down and enjoy the journey. Just like a giraffe, no matter where you are, you must keep your mind calm and take the changes in your life in stride.

This trip to South Africa not only allowed me to appreciate the charm of nature, but also made me re-examine my own life. I hope that in the days to come, I can walk with determination and grace like that giraffe, and learn to find inner peace in the busyness.
