This summer, the "Peer Companion · 2024 Summer United Kingdom Academic Exploration Camp" developed and produced by the Qingbei Peer Companion Division of Hailiang Technology Group officially kicked off. With curiosity about the world and the future, the students of Hailiang Foreign Language Middle School and Zhiyuan Branch of Hailiang Foreign Language Middle School came to United Kingdom accompanied by peer tutors, walked into the classroom of Cambridge University, and completed a 16-day and 15-night "academic exploration" trip.
In this extraordinary trip, the students and their outstanding peers have appreciated a wealth of cutting-edge academic knowledge, gained self-independence and growth, and planted the seeds of exploring the world, looking forward to taking root and sprouting in the future.
Of course, the enthusiasm and talent shown by Hailiang students in academic exploration and research have been highly praised by professors at Cambridge University, and have also won a reputation for Hailiang Education in the field of international education.
The Cambridge Academic Exploration Camp in United Kingdom includes professional courses taught by Cambridge professors.
Students came to the Centre for Medical AI (CCAIM) at the University of Cambridge for a 10-day course on artificial intelligence under the leadership of Professor Mihaela van der Schaar, the founder of the centre. The professor and his team members gave in-depth explanations on the cutting-edge topics of AI, and also had close interactions and discussions with the students, which stimulated their thinking and innovation.
At the end of the course, Professor Mihaela highly affirmed the ability of Hailiang's students. She made a special mention of two students, Guo and Li, who were deeply impressed by their outstanding performance in class. The professor even encouraged them to apply to the University of Cambridge to join her research team and continue their in-depth exploration and research in the field of artificial intelligence.
During the exploration, in addition to the high-level pilots of Cambridge professors and scholars, there were also peer tutors from Cambridge, Qingbei and other famous universities to accompany them throughout the process.
Eight Cambridge peer tutors accompanied the camp and had in-depth exchanges with students in learning workshops and experience sharing sessions, sharing their rich experience and valuable experience in further education. These authentic and touching stories of hard work not only made the students feel the power of their peers, but also inspired their enthusiasm for excellence.
In addition to enriching classroom learning, students also actively participated in Cambridge's classic activities. They explored the mysterious Dinky Doors hidden on street corners, experienced a unique pole ride on the Sword River, and participated in an exhilarating frisbee game. Throughout the camp, the students' laughter and cheers were intertwined.
On your last day in Cambridge, the itinerary included a special Formal Dinner. At the banquet, the students were dressed in formal attire, elegant and upright, one by one incarnated as ladies and gentlemen, embellishing the end of the Cambridge trip more dazzling and unforgettable.
Outside of Cambridge, students also visited two other prestigious universities in the United Kingdom. From the ancient and dignified University of Oxford to the avant-garde and modern University College London, students have experienced different academic styles and campus atmospheres, which provides a more intuitive reference for their future study choices.
Not only did they wander through the halls of academics, but they also walked through famous landmarks in the United Kingdom. They visited the historic British Museum, took in the grandeur of Buckingham Palace and strolled through the bustling city of Trafalgar Square. On a Thames River cruise, they enjoy the stunning riverside scenery along the way; Ascending to the London Eye, they were able to take in a beautiful panoramic view of all of London. Every step of the way in the United Kingdom is a touch and a sigh of history and culture.
With the successful completion of the Cambridge Academic Exploration Camp in United Kingdom, students have not only gained knowledge and experience, but also received tangible results and honors. All the participating students received a certificate of completion, which symbolizes their efforts and achievements. Among these outstanding students, 6 students stood out, not only for their outstanding performance in academic exploration, but also for their outstanding performance in teamwork and innovation ability, and won the Peer Scholarship for Outstanding Students.
With the successful conclusion of this camp, every student embarked on the way home with full harvest and deep understanding. For them, this journey is not only a simple learning experience, but also a journey of spiritual growth and self-discovery.
Some students have opened up new horizons in their learning, and their horizons are no longer limited to textbooks and classrooms, but extend to a wider academic field. They learn how to think independently and analyze problems critically.

During the camp, the excellent qualities of the students are also infecting each other. The professors were full of praise for the students, and the peer tutors also enjoyed the communication and getting along with the students. Their encouragement and support made the students more confident and brave to face challenges.
What the "Peer Walk" hopes to achieve is this kind of two-way interaction and growth. We hope that in the future, students will continue to discover the world, discover themselves, continue to pursue excellence, and constantly surpass themselves.
