Coach Yang Zhihua introduced that Peng Xuwei began to receive swimming training at the age of six or seven, and initially swam in four swimming styles: butterfly, back, frog, and self, focusing on laying the foundation, and later focusing on backstroke. In 2013, Peng Xuwei participated in the National Junior Swimming Competition, won the championship, and began to emerge.
