  The appointment of midsummer, Huazhang will begin; The wind music flows, and the mountains and seas are beautiful. In this crowded and poetic summer, a highly anticipated national wind music art feast is about to embrace Rizhao enthusiastically again and open a touching urban symphony.

  On August 6, the Municipal Information Office held a press conference to introduce in detail the activities of the "Rizhao Oriental" Wind Music Carnival and the 9th "China Cup" Wind Music Solo Performance.

  The "Rizhao Oriental" Wind Music Carnival and the 9th National Wind Music Solo Exhibition of the "China Cup" will be held in our city from August 13th to 16th. This is the second time that this national wind ensemble performance has "held hands" with Rizhao in one year after "May Day".

  The event was sponsored by the Wind Music Professional Committee of the China Musical Instrument Association, the Propaganda Department of the Rizhao Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Rizhao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Rizhao Municipal Education Bureau, co-organized by the Wind Music Association (Association) of all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and undertaken by the Beijing Haidian Wind Music Association and Shandong Foreign Chinese Vocational and Technical University. At that time, nearly 30 top domestic wind music art "big names", and more than 600 wind music artists and enthusiasts from 22 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country will gather in Rizhao to go to the wind music feast and play an artistic chapter.

  During this year's "May Day" holiday, the "Rizhao Oriental" Wind Music Carnival and the "China Cup" China's 17th Excellent Wind Band Team Exhibition were staged in Rizhao, setting off a wave of wind music art boom. During the period, Rizhao presented a wonderful and unforgettable art event with a high standard of service guarantee, a high level of reception capacity, excellent cultural and tourism resources and a new scene by the sea, which also made the event "settle" in Rizhao again soon after, highlighting the city's more and more important artistic attraction.

  The "China Cup" Wind Music Exhibition and Performance is a national-level music event that has landed in our city since 2019, and has become an important stage for primary and secondary school students across the country to learn and exchange wind music art, and an important cradle for cultivating and exploring the reserve force of wind music art.

  Different from the last time, this event is a solo wind music performance, aiming to discover more potential young wind music talents. At the press conference, Jiang Siwen, vice chairman of the Wind Music Society of the China Music Association and executive vice president of the Wind Music Professional Committee of the China Musical Instrument Association, introduced the outstanding features of the exhibition and competition section. In the early stage, the exhibition attracted nearly 700 non-professional wind musicians from all over the country to sign up, and after the review of the organizing committee, 600 players finally participated in the performance in Rizhao. These contestants include elementary and junior high school students, adults, first-time participants, and many contestants who have participated in previous exhibitions. Among them, there are 33 contestants from Rizhao who signed up for the competition, which is among the best in the same level of cities, which fully reflects the good situation of the rapid development of the popularization of wind music art in Rizhao in recent years.

  In recent years, Rizhao attaches great importance to the art education of wind music in schools, and has issued the "Implementation Plan for the Popularization and Improvement of Wind Music Art Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in Rizhao City", innovated the model of "art exhibition + characteristic brand", and made every effort to promote the popularization of wind music art education. Up to now, the city has built a total of 14 wind music demonstration characteristic schools, each school is divided into A and B groups, and a total of more than 16,000 students have been trained.

  As the most appealing wind music event in China, this event invited nearly 30 professors and performers from 12 top music schools and music groups in the country, including the Central Conservatory of Music and the China Symphony Orchestra, to teach and review, and adopt measures such as separating judges from contestants, removing the highest and lowest scores, announcing scores, and setting up a supervision and review team to ensure the fairness and authority of the performance.

  The performance is divided into three rounds, the second round of the contestants will be awarded the gold medal, silver medal, bronze award, the third round from the gold medal contestants to produce a number of the highest award of the exhibition, that is, the China Cup Award, for the contestants who want to enter the professional music academy to study, the jury will give positive recommendations. At the same time, the event will also carry out three free expert master classes and special concerts, through "one-on-one" teaching with the masters, so that the contestants can experience the most professional and top music guidance up close.

  This year's exhibition and performance lasted for 4 days, including the opening ceremony and concert, the national wind music solo performance, expert master classes, the "Rizhao Oriental - High Play Golden Beach" wind music carnival cultural activities to benefit the people, the closing ceremony and concert performance, etc.

  At 19:30 on August 13, the opening ceremony and concert will be held at the Rizhao Cultural and Museum Center.

  From August 13th to August 16th, the National Wind Solo Performance will be held at Shandong Foreign Chinese Vocational and Technical University.

  At 16:00 on August 16, the closing ceremony and concert performance will be held at Shandong University of Foreign Chinese Vocational and Technical University.

  In particular, the event also set up the "Rizhao Oriental - High Play Golden Beach" Wind Music Carnival Cultural Benefit Activity Section, which includes 3 activities.

  The first is the "Wind Charm" jury master concert. On the evening of August 14th, in the south area of the Cultural and Museum Center, five top domestic judges and experts were invited to perform wind music soloists, so that the general public could experience the charm of the master's style and wind music art at close range.

  The second is a solo ensemble performance in the Wind Music Corner. On August 14th and 15th, at the No. 5 Gate Square of Wanpingkou Scenic Area, the beach of Rizhao Seaside National Forest Park, and the Rizhao Wanda Shopping Mall, the national outstanding wind musicians were organized to carry out three solo performances of the wind music corner, so that the wind music art activities could be approached by citizens and tourists in a more accessible way with outdoor performances, creating an atmosphere of integration between the city and music, and enhancing the cultural attraction of the city.

  The third is a wind masterclass. On the afternoon of August 15, in the lecture hall of Rizhao City Library, Yu Hai, chairman of the Wind Music Society of the Chinese Musicians Association and former head of the military band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, was invited to give a "class" to wind music lovers in the whole society with the title of "The Charm of Wind Music Art"; On August 14th and 15th, more than 20 expert master public welfare classes were organized at the relevant venues of Shandong Foreign Language and Chinese Vocational and Technical University for contestants and parents, so that contestants can improve their performance ability, experience the fun of wind music performance, and understand the charm of music.

  Since 2019, the "China Cup" Wind Band Exhibition has been "flowering" Rizhao four times. Previously, Yu Hai, chairman of the Wind Music Society of the China Music Association whose hometown is Rizhao, once said in an interview: "Rizhao is blessed with a unique beach and sea, which is my favorite hometown. There is no shortage of traffic here, and the injection of wind music art will surely be 'icing on the cake', condensing a stronger cultural atmosphere, popularity and reputation for the city." ”

  In order to present a wonderful event at a high level and high standard again, Rizhao City attaches great importance to the preparation of this exhibition and performance, and has set up an organizing committee and a special working class to coordinate the efforts of all parties and promote the implementation of the preparatory work. The opening and closing ceremonies, performances and a series of cultural activities for the benefit of the people are set up in Rizhao Cultural and Museum Center, Shandong Vocational and Technical University of Foreign Chinese, Rizhao City Library, scenic spots, business districts and other places, which are both professional and inclusive to meet the needs of the majority of wind music artists and enthusiasts. During the competition, a volunteer service station will also be set up in the school outside the mountain to provide attentive services and warm protection for the contestants and their parents.

Admission tickets will be distributed free of charge to the public for special concerts and wind music master classes by judges, and relevant information will be released through platforms such as cultural tourism and Rizhao.
