Zou Jingyuan, the gold medalist in parallel bars at the Paris Olympics, was interviewed by a reporter from Beijing Youth Daily on the 8th, and he revealed that his shoulder injury aggravated before the Olympics, and he was closed with three injections, and he was unable to train for more than a month before the Olympic Games. However, with the belief that "no matter how painful it is, it must be compared", Zou Jingyuan completed the team and individual competitions, and won 1 gold and 2 silver outstanding results. Among them, Zou Jingyuan scored a super high score of 16.200 points on the parallel bars, and the title of "Jufenyuan" was also called. But Zou Jingyuan said that he should not be called that, because "such a title will bring more pressure to himself."
Beijing Youth Daily reporter (hereinafter referred to as: Beijing Youth Daily reporter): How do you evaluate the performance of this Olympic Games?
Zou Jingyuan: I have a deep feeling, we have been preparing for so long before, but we have some regrets in the men's team event, but we have played well in the individual event. I remember after the boy group lost, a few of us walked together by the river, and everyone was in a very low mood. We were also discussing the replay and wondering how the Japan team did it, but they weren't in that good form in the preliminaries. In the finals, they made mistakes in pommel horse and vault events, but when it came to parallel bars and horizontal bars, they played very consistently, which is worth learning from.
Beiqing Daily reporter: What time did you go to bed that night?
Zou Jingyuan: I remember that at the award ceremony, we were all even more depressed and I shed tears, but when I returned to my room, I felt relatively calm and not as sleepy as I imagined.
Beiqing Daily reporter: Your parallel bars score is so high, what do you think of the outside world's "giant score garden"?
Zou Jingyuan: I am especially grateful to everyone for giving me this title, and I also lived up to expectations and competed in the competition. But I don't think you need to call me "Jufenyuan", I'm just a gymnast, I do normal movements, and sometimes I am called high, but it is a kind of pressure on me.
Beiqing Daily reporter: I heard that before the rings final, the team was hesitant to let you play because of the fear that your shoulder injury would worsen?
Zou Jingyuan: Yes, the pre-game filing is that I and Liu Yang formed a double insurance. I was the first to do the rings finals. But the team was afraid that my shoulder injury would worsen and affect the parallel bars, because my arms couldn't move after the team ended, and I never practiced rings and parallel bars, so I was resting. So the coaching staff didn't know what kind of situation I was in. But I told them that I would be the first to get on the rings, and if I stepped down, Liu Yang would be the first to get on, and our competitors would see a greater hope of winning gold. So, what I was thinking at the time was, if you don't spell at this time, when will you spell?!
Beiqing Daily reporter: Tell me about your shoulder injury?
Zou Jingyuan: At this year's national championships, the shoulder injury was fine, but after coming back, I increased the amount of training for myself, and it was a little out of control. The shoulder injury worsened, so I rested for a week and waited for the team test, which I thought should not be a big problem, but when it came time to test, as soon as I put on the ring, I couldn't hang it, so the team let me rest. After resting for two weeks, I felt that it was still not good, and then unanimously decided to go to the closure, a total of three injections, I felt very uncomfortable, I didn't practice for a month, and I rested for two weeks after the closure. After coming to France, I also recovered little by little, but the rings could not be made after entering the Olympic Village, and the team preliminaries were the first time I made a set in two months. After the team final, my shoulder was back in a situation where I couldn't move. But no matter how painful it is, I have to practice, and I usually take painkillers all the time, and when it comes to the finals, the dosage is doubled. At the same time, I had to treat until 11 p.m. every day, which took longer than I could do, but there was no other way.
Beiqing Daily reporter: What are your plans next?
Zou Jingyuan: My shoulder has always been uncomfortable, and the next thing to do is to do an MRI examination and take good care of my shoulder, which is the most important thing at present.
Reporter from Beijing Youth Daily: Have you ever thought about the Los Angeles Olympics? People are expecting you to achieve a triple crown on parallel bars.
Zou Jingyuan: I haven't thought about the Los Angeles Olympics yet, because I don't want to set too long-term goals. Many times, the more anxious you are to do something, the worse you are. I want everything to fall into place.
