Pu Yi's photo was not taken at the Lushun Yamato Hotel

In November 1924, after Feng Yuxiang staged a coup d'état in Beijing, he sent Lu Zhonglin to lead troops into the Forbidden City to force Puyi to leave the palace. Pu Yi first moved into the residence of his father, Prince Zaifeng of Alcohol, in Houhai, then fled to the Japanese legation, and was soon escorted to Tianjin by the Japanese. On November 10, 1931, in the chaos he created, Kenji Tohihara secretly transported the deposed Qing emperor Puyi from his apartment in Tianjin to Lushun.

So where was this photo taken? On the evening of November 10, 1931, Kenji Tohihara secretly transported Pu Yi from Jingyuan in Tianjin to Lushun. Pu Yi hid all his eyes and ears and hid in the trunk of a two-seater convertible sports car to carry out of Jingyuan. This photo could not have been taken before the departure in Tianjin. Pu Yi took the merchant ship "Awaji Maru" and arrived at Yingkou Wharf on the morning of the 13th. Then I took the train to the Tanggangzi Hot Spring Recuperation Area and stayed at the Tsui Cuige Hot Spring Hotel. A week later, I received a call from Seishiro Itagaki asking Pu Yi to move to Lushun. The reason is that it is not safe for bandits in Tanggangzi, so it is better to live in Lushun. So, Pu Yi took the train at night, arrived in Lushun early the next morning, and stayed at the Yamato Hotel. After 105 days of busy work in Lushun, at 7 o'clock on March 6, 1932, Pu Yi, escorted by Japan, left Lushun by train with Wanrong, two sisters and Zheng Xiaoxu and others to Changchun via Tanggangzi. Arrived in Changchun on the 8th, held an "inauguration ceremony" on the 9th, and began his puppet career for nearly 14 years. During the period of planning the establishment of the puppet state of Manchukuo, Pu Yi went south and north to stay at Tanggangzi to Cui Pavilion twice, and the photo was probably taken there. Tanggangzi Hot Spring does have a building with 5 steps.
