On the morning of September 11, Sun Pengxiang, the silver medalist in the men's javelin F41 class in track and field at the Paris Paralympics, and Wang Yue, the silver medalist in the women's 70kg J2 event in blind judo, returned to their hometown of Inner Mongolia, and the Autonomous Region Disabled Persons' Federation held a welcoming ceremony at Hohhot East Station to welcome the return of Inner Mongolia athletes.
As the train slowly entered the platform, Sun Pengxiang and Wang Yue, who had returned with honors, appeared in everyone's field of vision, and the two athletes smiled and waved to everyone in the crowd and flowers.
In 2021 and 2023, Sun Pengxiang won the championship at the Tokyo Paralympics, the World Para Athletics Championships and the Hangzhou Asian Para Games, and broke world records many times. This is his third Paralympic appearance.
Sun Pengxiang: I have been breaking my own record in the past few years, and this competition is a bit regrettable, but I still want to continue to practice again and win this gold medal next time.
27-year-old Wang Yue suffered from fundus lesions caused by high fever when she was a child, resulting in second-degree visual disability. At the age of 13, she entered the women's judo team of the Inner Mongolia Sports Vocational College and began professional training. In 2021, at the Tokyo Paralympics, Wang Yue won the bronze medal in the blind judo women's 63kg class. In the Hangzhou Asian Para Games held in 2023 and the World Blind Judo Grand Prix in the first half of this year, Wang Yue won gold medals many times.
Wang Yue: After coming back, summarize and make persistent efforts, with my current competitive state, there should be no problem with better results in the next session.
