Walk! Go to the village to take the "first lesson of school"

"What are the intuitive changes that the injection of cultural power has brought to the development of the village?"

"There are more people in the village, and the fruits and vegetables we grow are marketable, and there is also a boom in 'picking tours'."

"How's everyone's engagement?"

"There are more cultural events, and people often get together to watch movies and performances. I also learned how to dance, tea art, and coffee making. ”

……

This Q&A between students and villagers is a scene from the "First Lesson" of the Public Art Department of Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts (Ziyang Campus) of Sichuan Conservatory of Music on September 10.

What is different from the past is that this time the class was not set up in the school, but "moved" to Yanjiaba Village, which is more than 30 minutes' drive away from the school; The instructor is not a teacher in the school, but a plant and tree in the village, as well as the life of the villagers. In the class that day, the students communicated face-to-face with local villagers through on-site visits and door-to-door visits, and jointly explored the context of rural development.

Why did you "move" the classroom to Yanjiaba Village? It turned out that at the beginning of this semester, the Public Art Department of Chuanyin Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts reached a school-local cooperation with Yanjiaba Village, and innovatively moved four courses: regional cultural research, public art logo design, public art environment design, and public art practice achievement display to the rural frontline. The course runs through the second half of this year, striving to find the best combination between public art and rural revitalization, and bring new vitality and perspective to the construction of rural public culture.

The reporter learned that the courses of the Department of Public Art mainly focus on the three major sections of public art, urban renewal and rural revitalization, and the focus of this semester's course is rural revitalization. "The main purpose of our project this time is to investigate the local historical and cultural characteristics of Yanjiaba Village and the construction of intangible cultural heritage, and guide students to draw valuable conclusions from it." Pan Xuemei, deputy director of the Department of Public Art, introduced that the project focused on the regional cultural research of Yanjiaba Village, and jointly carried out it from the perspective of social service in conjunction with the Ziyang Municipal Committee of Jiusan Society, aiming to lay a solid foundation for the in-depth study of rural public culture.

Student Zhou Lu is full of interest in such a "first lesson of school". "I feel that the villagers live a very comfortable and colorful life, and they usually have many hobbies." Since she has lived in the north since she was a child, she visited Yanjiaba Village this time, and she was deeply impressed by the scattered buildings and colorful life of the villagers. Like Zhou Lu, the students said that they had gained a lot, and they believed that the public art course should not only focus on the city, but also go deep into the countryside to empower rural revitalization with art.

As the "bridge" of the school-local cooperation, Fan Binbin, the manager of the Yanjiaba Village Rural Cultural Space Courtyard, told reporters that the core of the cooperation lies in interaction and co-creation, which is intended to combine public art with local culture and promote the revitalization of rural culture.

"We not only hope that students can learn art here, but also hope that they can interact deeply with the villagers, participate in public art projects, and create works that can represent the characteristic culture of the village, which will be a two-way cultural exchange and growth." Fan Binbin introduced. It is reported that it is expected that in December this year, the school and the local government will jointly plan and launch a public art practice achievement exhibition in Yanjiaba Village, focusing on displaying the students' practical achievements and adding color to rural revitalization with art.
