In this regard, Zhu Xichan, a professor at the School of Automotive Engineering of Tongji University and director of the Institute of Automotive Safety Technology, recently analyzed and said in the Voice of China: "From the perspective of fire probability, the probability of fire in new energy vehicles is similar to the probability of fire in internal combustion vehicles, but why we are not worried about internal combustion vehicles, new energy vehicles are worried, and this involves fire protection measures." The basic principle of today's firefighting measures is oxygen insulation. New energy vehicles have batteries, and if the power battery is thermally unstable, oxygen isolation is useless. There are a lot of cars in the underground garage, and it will reignite the cars next to it. ”
"The second terrible thing is that many of the underground garages are the columns of the building, and these columns are the load-bearing columns in the building structure, and if the load-bearing columns are overfired, the reinforced concrete inside will fail, which means that the building may collapse. In fact, if the traditional fire protection measures are not effective, the main structure of the building will be burned to the ground. Zhu Xichan added.
At the same time, Zhu Xichan also said that battery safety is a key testing item for new energy vehicles, and with the update and iteration of battery technology, the battery safety of new energy vehicles has been significantly improved.
"In recent years, the more new cars the lower the risk, we have used a large number of thermal insulation ceramic sheets and aerogels in the battery pack, and strive to separate the small modules and large modules of the battery cells, and now we have not found an effective way to prevent the thermal instability of the battery cells, but we can already prevent the spread of thermal instability. In recent years, the safety of the battery pack of new electric vehicles has been improved a lot. ”
"The Ministry of Public Security is formulating a national recommended standard, and now all new energy vehicles in our country are to be forced to enter the network, there is the Internet of Vehicles, the risk supervision of the battery pack is its main work, if the voltage of the battery pack is abnormal, the temperature is abnormal, it will alarm in time. In this year's annual inspection of automobiles, the detection items of battery pack risk have been added to the new energy vehicle security inspection line. Zhu Xichan said.
In Professor Zhu's view, the crux of the matter is whether the underground garage is equipped with strong fire protection measures, rather than a "one-size-fits-all" approach to prohibit the parking of new energy vehicles.
Zhu Xichan said: "The government should still intervene, otherwise it will be harmful to the promotion of new energy vehicles, and its fire protection measures should be strengthened."
