According to news on September 16, Mr. Solawong, secretary general of the Thai Party and Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, officially went to the office building of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to take up his duties, and on the same day, more than 50 people from the Thailand tour guide organization group under the leadership of the leader sent a letter to him, calling for a solution to the problems and difficulties faced by the tour guide group.
Paisan said that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports came to protect the interests of Thailand engaged in tourism, and asked the department to increase the crackdown on illegal foreigners in the tourism industry. Because according to the policy goal of the Thailand government, tourism is to make tourism an important industry that allows democracy to earn a living and bring dignity and honor, but most of the current tourism revenue does not really benefit Thailand, but falls into the hands of legal and illegal foreign workers, resulting in a significant decline in the proportion of Thailand in tourism.
Therefore, the Thailand tour guide group hopes that the new Minister of Tourism and Sports will speed up the introduction of rectification measures, crack down on illegal foreigners, and sustainably protect the interests of the working countrymen. In addition, according to the document sent by the tour guide group to the Pheu Thai Party on June 21 and the follow-up on the progress of the matter on September 8, the specific requirements are as follows:
1. Request to accelerate the crackdown on illegal foreigners in the tourism industry and support for working Thailand;
2. Request an investigation into whether officials are suspected of harboring foreigners and profiting from them, and whether foreign illegal tour guides are punished to the maximum extent;
3. Request for help in submitting the draft law on tour guides to the lower house of Thailand for consideration to further promote the establishment of a professional committee for tour guides.
In response, Minister of Tourism and Sports Solawong said that he would immediately understand the relevant problems and solutions and submit them to the Pheu Thai Party's review committee meeting. As for the issues submitted by the above-mentioned group of tour guides, he was sure that they would be resolved, but who was responsible needed to further understand the analysis and see which parts could be implemented immediately.
