The past 48 hours have undoubtedly been a fearful one for Lebanon society, because after the "pager explosion", there have been "walkie-talkie explosions" and even "punch card machine explosions". As a result, the number of casualties caused by the bombing has skyrocketed, with more than 30 people killed and more than 3,000 injured to varying degrees. What's more, it was not only members of the Lebanon Allah forces who were attacked, but also a significant number of ordinary civilians. Although no country or organization in the world has come forward to claim this matter, this does not prevent international public opinion, including the West, from unanimously targeting the Israel spy organization Mossad.
And as more details emerge, the focus of public opinion is no longer entirely focused on Israel's intentions. According to a report published by the Observer Network citing the Hong Kong media "South China Morning Post" on the 18th, many experts have analyzed and pointed out that although the identity of the mastermind behind the scenes has yet to be clarified, there is no doubt that the tool of the crime was the explosion caused by communication equipment, coupled with the increasingly serious collusion between the Taiwan authorities and United States in recent years, and the United States is a close ally of Israel, the tragedy that occurred in Lebanon may make Chinese mainland wake up.
In the end Chinese mainland had to look with more skepticism at the electronics and communications products produced by United States and allies, as well as followers like the Taiwan authorities. It is worth mentioning that Snowden, who is famous for exposing the "prism gate" and is still being hunted by the United States, responded to the "pager explosion" incident in Lebanon, saying that one day when people find the stuffed explosives inside the Apple phone, they will understand what a terrible precedent what happened today.
From a practical point of view, Snowden's warnings are by no means untargeted, whether it is a "pager explosion" or a "walkie-talkie explosion", which ultimately points to an "indiscriminate terrorist attack", because even equipment purchasers cannot be sure where these devices will eventually circulate, and if these devices do not appear in stores or on the streets, but on airplanes, the direct and collateral damage caused will inevitably increase exponentially. And this series of explosions sounded not only the "anti-terrorism security alarm bell", but also the "supply chain security alarm bell". When pagers, walkie-talkies, these commonly seen civilian-grade consumer electronic products, are transformed into life-threatening weapons by people with ill intentions.
And when this weapon is likely to come from the hands of the so-called "democratic camp", this will force the whole world to re-examine the "security of the industrial chain" and carry out necessary self-examination and clarification on this premise. This process will inevitably have an irreversible negative impact on the global information industry, because this is the first time that civilian consumer electronics have been reduced to large-scale killing devices since mankind entered the era of industrialization. Today, thousands of pagers exploded at the same time because of a single command, and who can guarantee that in the future, hundreds of thousands of smartphones will not ignite their batteries at the same time in the middle of the night due to secret updates in the background, causing fires.
The only thing to be thankful for is that these attacks, which are usually in the "security blind spot", have been remembered in such a dramatic way that when people are wary of this, they will inevitably take remedial measures to plug the loopholes. As the world's only major country with a full industrial chain, China should fully seize this opportunity.
China needs to comprehensively improve its own supply chain security factor, and at the same time bring the real "supply chain security" issue to the international community for public discussion. Through this kind of open discussion and publicity, we need to comprehensively counter the malicious accusations made by United States and its allies against China's supply chain in the past, and finally make "Made in China" synonymous with "safe and reliable".
