For the second time, Franck Muller has teamed up with Sporting Club Portugal to celebrate the club's extraordinary achievements with the launch of the Vanguard™ Sporting CP National Champion 2023-2024. The launch of this limited edition commemorates Portugal's victory in the 2023-2024 Portugal Premier League and further strengthens Franck Muller's 18-year partnership with the Lysbon football club.
Franck Muller's deep ties with Portugal Sporting Club date back to 2005, when the Long Island Sporting CP 100th anniversary was launched to celebrate the club's centenary. Since then, Franck Muller has continued to create special editions to commemorate the milestones of Portugal's sports clubs, including the Vanguard™ Sporting Clube de Portugal 111th anniversary to celebrate its 111th anniversary, and the Cintrée Curvex™ Sporting CP Remember 115th anniversary.
This year, the Vanguard™ case was selected for its sporty design, which perfectly captures the sporting essence of Portugal's sports clubs. The Vanguard™ Sporting CP National Champion 2023-2024 features a Franck Muller timepiece's distinctive curved case with an integrated nylon strap to enhance the sleek look. The most striking elements of this limited edition are the luminescent case and dial. The case and dial are made using a cutting-edge forged carbon process and filled with LumiNova® material that glows brightly in the dark.
The dial and strap stitching proudly feature the iconic green hue, paying homage to the Portugal sports club. The Arabic numeral "24" at 12 o'clock on the board symbolizes Sporting Portugal's 24th domestic top-flight title in the 2023-2024 season.
For the launch of this unique limited edition watch, Franck Muller CEO Nicholas Rudaz travelled to Lisbon to attend an event at the Stadium of Portugal Sports Club in Lisbon with the club's president, Frederico Varandas.
Blending tradition and modernity, the Franck Muller Vanguard™ Sporting CP National Champion 2023-2024 showcases the heritage of Portugal's sports clubs and Franck Muller's savoir-faire, and is bound to become a coveted collector's item for clubs and lovers of fine watchmaking.
