Hybrid cloud has become the preferred foundation for the digital transformation of governments and large enterprises, and HUAWEI CLOUD has been continuously investing in R&D resources to provide a sustainable and optimal hybrid cloud foundation for government and enterprise customers.
Shang Haifeng said: "Cloudification of core business and intelligent production are becoming the two main paths for governments and enterprises to use cloud in depth. HUAWEI CLOUD Stack will innovate in both resilience and intelligence, leading hybrid cloud to new heights and accelerating the digital and intelligent transformation of governments and enterprises. ”
Shang Haifeng, CEO of Huawei's Host Cloud Migration Corps and President of Hybrid Cloud
A new level of resilience to create a new standard for host cloud migration
With the deepening of the industry-wide cloudification process, the cloudification of core systems has become the last piece of the puzzle and the only way to fully intelligent. However, the overall upgrade and evolution of the core system to the cloud-based architecture is a huge challenge, involving multiple factors such as hardware, software, security, O&M, tuning, and tools, and it is an end-to-end system engineering with software and hardware collaboration.
This year, Huawei set up a host cloud migration team, bringing together the core R&D resources of computing, storage, network, cloud, and Academia Sinica to carry out systematic innovation, give full play to the advantages of software and hardware synergy, and challenge the world-class problem of host migration to the cloud. On the one hand, we will continue to build a technical system of independent innovation to ensure the continuity of core technology supply. On the other hand, we need to build end-to-end system engineering capabilities from infrastructure, implementation process, and O&M system to build a new core on the cloud.
The host cloud solution provides a full-scenario disaster recovery and protection solution, supports business unitized deployment and multi-location multi-active disaster recovery, and meets the requirements of different levels of availability. The ability to perceive hardware faults in seconds makes large-scale cluster O&M more efficient. Application-centric end-to-end observability makes fault location and handling faster. The cloud operating system inductive upgrade technology can achieve parallel batch upgrades of hundreds of nodes without the need to migrate virtual machines, and the service is imperceptible.
Leveraging the advantages of hardware and software synergy, Huawei uses hardware NIC virtualization pass-through technology and multi-core lock-free technology to reduce the single-time forwarding latency of load balancing by 83% and increase the forwarding bandwidth of a single cluster to 400 Gbit/s. Second, the traffic pass-through container turns the two-layer network into one layer, reducing the latency by 40%. In addition, the combination of RoCE network and NoF+ protocol is introduced to reduce end-to-end storage latency by 50% and bring customers the ultimate performance experience.
In terms of security, the GaussDB fully encrypted database and the Kunpeng TEE trusted computing space are combined to prevent data leakage and reduce the performance loss to less than 20%.
Shang Haifeng said that Huawei hopes to build a new trusted standard for host migration to the cloud through root technology innovation and experience accumulation, push the resilience of core systems to a new level, and provide a better choice for the world.
A new level of intelligence, the top N scenarios of large-model hybrid cloud are released
In the past two years, with the vigorous development of large models, more and more industries have begun to explore and apply large models, giving birth to new business models and broad market demand, and technology and scenarios are the two key points for the implementation of large models in the industry.
In 2023, HUAWEI CLOUD Stack will launch the industry's first large-model hybrid cloud, helping enterprises build their own proprietary large-scale models in one stop. In June this year, we released ten innovative technologies for large-scale hybrid cloud, innovating from multiple dimensions of infrastructure, algorithm architecture, and engineering capabilities, making the technology not difficult to use. At the same time, by building high-quality datasets, precipitating model application landing experience, and deeply integrating with the industry ecology, the scenario is simplified.
HUAWEI CLOUD Stack uses the new ModelArts engineering tool suite, which includes three modules: data, model, and application, to promote the implementation of AI engineering and make it easier to build, train, and deploy large models.
At the conference, HUAWEI CLOUD released the TopN scenarios of large-model hybrid cloud. The first batch is for five major industries, and a total of 20 fields and more than 80 industry scenario baselines have been released. Shang Haifeng mentioned that the scenario baselines released this time are all based on the projects that have been implemented, with solutions, services, and partners, which can be widely promoted and replicated. In the future, we will maintain the frequency of updates twice a year, and continue to bring more scenarios and better solutions to customers.
The top N scenarios of large-model hybrid cloud are released
HUAWEI CLOUD will adhere to the concept of AI for industries, and based on the powerful capabilities and experience of HUAWEI CLOUD Stack and Pangu large models, we will push intelligence to a new level, so that every enterprise can have its own own large model.
From the data center to the intelligent computing center, create the optimal hybrid cloud base
The computing power needs of enterprises are diversifying, and the dual engines of general computing and intelligent computing are becoming the new normal. HUAWEI CLOUD Stack defines computing power characteristics and capabilities based on scenarios, and uses a hybrid cloud base to meet the needs of diverse computing power such as data, containers, and AI. For customers who have already built Huawei's hybrid cloud, they can directly expand AI computing power and cloud services like a stacked brick, smoothly evolving from general computing to intelligent computing.
Work with industry customers to practice in-depth cloud use and leap to new heights
HUAWEI CLOUD has been working with leading customers in the industry to explore the frontiers of services and technologies, find technologies and scenarios for the industry, and continue to empower customers to upgrade their business intelligence.
To date, HUAWEI CLOUD Stack has served more than 5,500 customers around the world, and has maintained a leading market share in industries such as government, finance, and central state-owned enterprises for many years.
More than 60% of China's major banks and joint-stock banks have chosen Huawei to build new cloud cores. Peng Xiao, Deputy General Manager of the Fintech Department of China Everbright Bank, delivered a speech titled "Deepening Technology Empowerment, Everbright Digital Infrastructure Soaring to the Cloud".
