On March 20, 2024, Beijing, Henan Province, Sichuan Province, Jiangxi Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps announced the application materials for the authorization review of new doctoral and master's degrees. So far, the application materials of 32 provinces and cities (including the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps) have all been publicized.

According to statistics, in 2024, a total of 703 units (including 644 universities) across the country plan to apply for 4,423 new master's and doctoral programs.

Among them, 24 universities plan to apply for a new doctoral program in the first-level discipline of regional country studies, and 39 universities plan to apply for a new master's program in the first-level discipline of regional country studies. The specific information is summarized as follows:
