Just recently, the CCTV military channel broadcast the "quenching" series of documentaries have attracted great attention from the media at home and abroad, the documentary from multiple angles on the PLA's new combat effectiveness generation and new weapons and equipment construction has been comprehensively displayed, a large number of unseen details of new weapons and equipment have been declassified and exposed, not only that, CCTV also unveiled the mystery of the PLA's "island seizure" tactics.
As soon as the documentary opened, it showed the tactical arrangements of the PLA in the "island seizure" operation, and after receiving information from the front-line scouts, the PLA helicopter group began to move and flew towards the "enemy" target.
When approaching the target location, our helicopter group encountered the threat of individual anti-aircraft missiles carried by the "enemy." Coincidentally, the Taiwan military has recently purchased a large number of US "Stinger" missiles, and we are obviously practicing how to deal with this threat.
The Stinger missile is a shoulder-launched short-range anti-aircraft missile researched and manufactured by United States. It uses infrared guidance, can track the hot wake discharged from the tail of the aircraft, and carry out all-round attacks on enemy aircraft, and its anti-jamming ability is very strong. The missile is composed of four parts: the missile body, the power system, the guidance system, and the warhead, with a length of 1.5 meters, a maximum wingspan of 0.09 meters, a diameter of 0.07 meters, and a weight of 15.1 kilograms. It has a maximum range of 5.6 kilometers, a firing altitude of 4,800 meters, and a flight speed twice the speed of sound. It can be carried by a single soldier, mainly in a standing position and shoulder-mounted operation force, once the target is found, the shooter can immediately carry it on the shoulder to prepare for launch, which is very convenient and flexible. Missile aiming adopts a combination of visual tracking and automatic tracking, when infrared tracking and the field of view of the scope completely coincide, the acoustic signal of the target is confirmed by the friend or foe recognizer that the target is an enemy aircraft, the shooter can pull the trigger to shoot the missile, the Stinger missile was in service in 1981, and was well known during the war in Afghanistan.
At that time, Soviet Mi-24 gunships, Mi-8 transport helicopters and Su-25 attack aircraft circled back and forth over Afghanistan without scruples. In 1986, after Afghanistan received Stinger missiles from the US military, it shot down more than 260 Soviet planes, with a kill rate of about 79%.
In fact, this is not the first time that China has come into contact with Stinger missiles, and the Taiwan military has already owned about 2,000 Stingers before this, the difference is that this batch of Stingers is the latest upgraded model. The latest upgraded Stinger anti-aircraft missile has a range of 8,000 meters, which is 3,000 meters more than the previous model, and the launch height can also reach about 3,000 meters.
United States' arms sales of Stingers to Taiwan are the use of Stinger missiles to resist the large-scale use of transport helicopters, armed helicopters and attack aircraft carrying out low-altitude bombing missions when the PLA landing, and after the PLA lands on the island, similar to the Russian-Ukrainian war, sneak attack on our army's air power, and there are even "experts" in Taiwan, China, who threaten that as long as there are hundreds of thousands of "Stinger" missiles, they can firmly grasp air supremacy.
According to the US think tank's military recommendation, United States should rearm the Chinese Taiwan and transform them into a force fighting street battles, urban battles, and guerrilla warfare, so that the PLA will be completely trapped on the island of Taiwan, thus giving the United States and Japan the opportunity to intervene by force and turning the war in the Taiwan Strait into a protracted war of attrition.United States
For example, the Institute for the Study of War, a United States think tank, said that the PLA has "been stepping up research and training and preparing for future urban wars" over the past decade. But in this regard, the experience of the PLA is "limited". The report said that the mainland's armed intervention in the Taiwan Strait "may involve fierce fighting in urban areas on the island," bluntly stressing the importance of arming Taiwan in street battles with the PLA.
And Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of United States, once said at an event that through the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, it can be seen that if war breaks out in the Taiwan Strait, Taiwan's best tactic is to launch the people on the island to "fight street battles".
After confirming the location of the enemy's missiles, the helicopter group immediately changed its formation and dispersed, releasing a large number of jamming bombs at the same time, and at the same time carrying out complex evasion actions to help the helicopters evade the incoming missiles.
There are three ways to escape the missile lock, the first is to carry out a large-scale vertical maneuver, consume the missile potential energy, and destroy the opponent's radar lock. The second point is to quickly dive to the ground while being locked by the radar, enter the radar blind spot as soon as possible, and at the same time maneuver, use the electronic jamming pod to jam the missile and make it lose its target. The third point is to launch chaff and infrared decoy shells to trick the opponent's missile guidance radar.
At the same time, our drone quickly approached the target and completed the lock, and as the command was given, a missile shot out and hit the target accurately, breaking through the "enemy's" defense line.
After the UAVs successfully cleared the threat, the helicopter group safely landed on the island and arrived at the target airport, where they carried out the "decapitation" tactic in the airborne operation, which ended the entire exercise.
In fact, this tactic was already validated last year when the Kokang coalition recaptured Kokang, using drones to launch aerial strikes against the Burmese army, especially those of the Burmese army and the telemail militia that were guarding the hilltop strongholds. In the past, these strongholds were absolutely easy to defend and difficult to attack, and a few machine guns could make the Kokang armed forces helpless, and they could not capture a single stronghold in a month. Under the use of drones to penetrate the defense, the Kokang Army captured more than 50 strongholds and villages and towns in four days.
According to central media reports, 15 attack drones are grouped into a "swarm" to fight, each carrying 5 anti-armor terminal sensitive shells, and the "swarm" can theoretically destroy 75 enemy tanks or armored vehicles in a single sortie.
China has 1.267 million registered drones and 194,000 drone operator licenses. How terrifying is this statistic? Russia announced the progress of the front in 2024, saying that more than 1,700 drone teams and more than 1,500 FPV drone operators have made outstanding achievements. More than 1,500 FPV drone operators have stirred up the Russian-Ukrainian battlefield, and China has 200,000 drone operators, what a huge number.
1.267 million is just the number of civilian drones, the number of Chinese military drones has not been disclosed, according to statistics, the annual production capacity of China's civilian drone companies has reached 10 million, which means that an average of about 27,000 drones can be produced per day, which is still not in a wartime state. In wartime, how much can the continent produce drones? Experts say that at least more than 30 million drones can be produced, that is, 82,000 drones can be produced per day, and 3,000 drones can be produced in one hour. This is just the production line capacity of civilian drones.
In addition to this, the most striking scene in the documentary is the presentation of the PLA's long-range multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), the PCL-191 "Long-Fire" brigade. The brigade is equipped with advanced systems capable of firing 370-mm rockets with a range of up to 350 kilometers and 750-mm ballistic missiles with a range of up to 500 kilometers. Given that the Taiwan Strait is only 280 kilometers wide at its widest point, this means that the system can strike directly from the mainland Fujian Province to the west coast of Taiwan.
In the documentary, the rocket brigade carried out a night exercise that simulated the scenario of enemy troops firing missiles at PLA bombers and warships. The rocket brigade, having received the task of covering, acted quickly and launched a vehicle-mounted rocket into the night sky.
This shows that our army is even prepared to wash the ground of important military targets on Taiwan if it encounters stubborn resistance from the Taiwan army.
It should be pointed out that rocket artillery cannot be intercepted, and the United States has put forward the so-called C-RAM concept, which is to intercept the opponent's rockets, artillery shells, and mortar shells to protect the safety of overseas camps. However, the use scenario of C-RAM is the kind of sporadic shelling on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, and if the other side launches a large-scale salvo, in the face of the artillery ground-washing offensive, the United States will not be able to stop it at all.
It can be said that the development of rocket artillery on the mainland has passed the initial stage of pursuing range and power, and has embarked on the road of modular development. Launch modules of different calibers can be configured on the same launch platform, and fire coverage can be achieved at close and long distances.
The continuously enhanced guidance system makes it possible to accurately hit both stationary and moving targets. The modular ammunition configuration can be arbitrarily combined according to the needs and types of ammunition, which can not only cover the strike with firepower, but also strike accurately, and can hit both close-range and long-distance targets. It has outstanding characteristics such as "overall technology, projectile and arrow co-frame, integrated fire control, and self-loading".
In the face of the PLA's multi-layered and three-dimensional attack capability, it will be difficult for the Taiwan independence forces to build a sufficiently powerful defense system in a short period of time even if they rely on US-made weapons.
Judging from the information released by the mainland at present, our side is ready to take over Taiwan by armed reunification, after all, according to Ambassador Lu Shaye's interview, the Taiwan authorities have been directly defined as a rebel regime.
In the CCTV quenching documentary, the PLA war game deduction map was made public, and the buildings of Taiwan Province were accurately reproduced, which showed the PLA's increasing capabilities and preparedness for possible situations. By demonstrating such a comprehensive exercise, the program is not only demonstrating military strength, but also sending a strategic signal to China, Taiwan, and the international community. This reflects the mainland's firm stance on the issue of achieving reunification and shows its willingness to use force if necessary.
