Prince Gong Yi
Hello everyone, I'm Lantai.
Today, Lantai would like to introduce to you the situation of the descendants of Prince Gong of the Qing Dynasty.
01、
As we all know, Prince Gong was one of the most important political figures in the late Qing Dynasty, and after his death, the Qing Dynasty also allowed his "Prince Gong" title to be hereditary and replaced, becoming the Qing Dynasty King who once again won the honor of "hereditary replacement" in addition to Prince Yi Yinxiang during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty.
So, after Yi Li's death, what is the inheritance of Prince Gong's lineage?
Where are the descendants of Yi Yi now?
Yi Yi has a total of seven sides in his life, a total of eight blessings.
The Fujin Guerjia clan is the daughter of the university scholar Gui Liang, and the prince of Hui Mianyu succeeded the concubine of the Fujin Dynasty.
It should be said that the relationship between Yi Yi and Chang Fujin is very good, at least better than the relationship between his brother Emperor Xianfeng of Qing Wenzong and Empress Ci'an.
The evidence is that the Guerjia clan gave birth to two sons and two daughters for Yi Li.
They are the eldest son Zai, the third son Zaijun, and the eldest daughter Princess Rongshou Gulun and the second daughter.
Yi Yi's second son, the county king, Beile Zaiying, was born to Xue Jia's family in the side Fujin, and the youngest son Zai Huang was born to Liu Jia's family in the side Fujin Dynasty.
In addition, Yi Yi also has three daughters who are also from Fang Fujin.
Speaking of which, Yi Yi still has a lot of children, with a total of four sons and five daughters.
However, there are only three who have really grown up, namely the eldest son Zaiying, the second son Zaiying, and the eldest daughter Princess Rongshou Gulun.
Yi Li's eldest daughter, Princess Rongshou Gulun
Yi Yi's eldest son, Zai Cheng, is very famous in history, and after the death of Emperor Tongzhi of Qing Mu Zong, someone in the clan once proposed to let Zai Cheng inherit the throne, but it was rejected.
And it was vetoed by Ci'an and Cixi at the same time, on the grounds that it was "frivolous".
As for why Zai Cheng is "frivolous", there is no record in the official history, but Ye Shi believes that Zai Cheng instigated Emperor Muzong Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty to visit the Eight Great Hutongs, so the Empress Dowager of the Two Palaces hated Zai Cheng deeply and would never allow Zai to be the heir emperor.
Although there is no clear historical record of "visiting the Bada Hutong", Zai Cheng had no heirs until his death, which shows that he was also a fun-loving person.
In other words, Yi Yi's eldest son, Zai, is in fact the heir.
It's just that after Zai's death, Yi Yi succeeded his second son Zaiying's eldest son Pu Wei to inherit the eldest son's incense.
Speaking of Zai Ying, it is also quite interesting, it stands to reason that when his brother dies, Prince Gong's title should be inherited by him; It's a pity that before his brother died, he was passed out by his father.
When Zai Ying was 7 years old, he was passed on to Tang Bo Zhong Jun Wang Yi as his heir.
This is not Cixi's deliberate "rectification", in fact, Cixi took care of Yiyi.
Because the children of the Qing Dynasty also need to take an exam to be knighted, this is the examination system.
Zai Ying and her eldest son Pu Wei
Moreover, the Qing Dynasty was very stingy in giving the higher titles of the clan, like Zaiying, who was not born to his mother, if he took the normal examination, then the examination score was the best, and at most he could only be awarded the eight-point town Guogong.
On the contrary, he succeeded to the Gao Jue childless clan as an heir, and he could inherit the Gao Jue of his adoptive father.
Zaiying inherited the title of Baylor in accordance with the rules of "demotion and raiding".
Baylor is four levels higher than the Guogong of Bafen Town, and his annual salary is also five times higher, reaching 2,500 taels.
At the time of Zai's death, Zai Ying had been succeeded for 17 years, and it was obviously impossible for him to return to Prince Gong's Mansion to inherit the title of Prince Gong.
Pu Wei
02、
At the time of Zai's death, Zaiying's eldest son Pu Wei was already 5 years old, and Cixi arranged for the 5-year-old little Pu Wei to be the heir of his uncle Zai Wei in order to avoid Prince Gong's heir, inheriting the title of Prince Gong.
Zaiying has three sons in addition to Pu Wei, namely Pu Ru, Pu You, and Pu Fu.
Among them, Pu Ru is the great painter Pu Xinji, who was as famous as Zhang Daqian during the Republic of China.
Speaking of which, Pu Ru was also quite unlucky, originally he could inherit the title of his father Zaiying Chung Baylor; In addition, because of Yi Yi's death, Cixi also rewarded Zai Ying with the title of county king, which not only allowed Zai Ying to receive a salary according to the rank of the county king when he was alive, but also did not demote his original Baylor title after his death.
However, Zaiying may not be satisfied, in the 1900 "Gengzi Incident" turmoil, he ran to mix with Duanjun Wang Zaiyi, and was finally removed from all titles by Cixi and became an idle clan.
Pu Ru naturally inherited nothing.
And after Zaiying became an idle clan in 1900, he had no income, so he could only take the whole family back to Prince Gong's Mansion to eat his eldest son.
Back to the second generation of Prince Gong Pu Wei.
Speaking of Pu Wei, in fact, he was quite miserable, he was forced to leave his parents at the age of 5 and live with his grandparents, without enjoying much care and love from his parents.
When he became an adult, he was forced to get involved in the turmoil of the battle for the throne because his grandfather Yili was too famous.
The last emperor, Pu Yi
First, after the failure of the Wuxu Reform, it was rumored that Pu Wei was also a candidate to replace Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty and inherit the throne; Then after the death of Qing Dezong in 1908, Pu Wei was rumored to be the heir to the throne.
Although Pu Wei himself was not implicated much in these two turmoils, and he did not have the possibility of actual succession, these two turmoils also seriously affected Pu Wei's life.
made Pu Wei live in the illusory dream of "I want to be an emperor" all his life, and was also jealous of the real last emperor Pu Yi, resulting in the sudden death of Pu Wei at the age of 56 in Changchun in 1936.
Originally, Pu Yi wanted to take advantage of Pu Wei's sudden death to cancel the title of "Prince Gong", but it was only under the persuasion of other clan members that Pu Wei's eldest son Yu Liang inherited the title of Prince Gong.
Yu Liang
Yu Liang is also the third generation of Prince Gong and the last Prince Gong.
Speaking of which, Yu Liang is worse than his father Pu Wei.
After Pu Wei's death, Yu Liang and his mother Zhang had no source of income in Beijing, so they could only go to Changchun to "inherit" the title of Prince Gong, so they had 10,000 yuan a year.
At that time, the 8-year-old Yu Liang was arranged to study in the puppet palace private school run by Puyi, and there were a total of five students in the private school at that time, all of whom were descendants of the Qing Dynasty royal family.
Pu Yi
What Yu Liang remembers most is that Pu Yi once gave them a lesson, and made it clear that the emperor does not talk about relatives with anyone, and everyone is a slave to the emperor:
Say that I am the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, if I am not the emperor, I am like you, I am a member of the Aixin Jueluo family. It's different now that I'm the emperor, in other words, it's not a kinship relationship, the emperor doesn't care about anyone, it's about the emperor; You are a slave, I am the emperor, the relationship between the monarch and the minister.
After the end of World War II, Yu Liang also followed Pu Yi to prison for 12 years until he was pardoned in 1957.
After the amnesty, Yu Liang, who had no survival skills at all, was placed as a worker on a farm in the suburbs of Beijing, doing some of the simplest manual labor, not discriminating against him, but other complicated and skilled jobs, which he really couldn't do:
I was all alone, weighing just 100 pounds, sifting through the big stones and sand of the sand, and carrying them in a basket for two people. That basket is 200 catties, and one person has to carry 100 catties, so he does it.
Later, in an interview with the media, Yu Liang also lamented that his whole life was delayed because of Pu Yi:
I said that I followed Pu Yi, this is a sacrifice, it's over. If I don't follow Pu Yi and take out half of it, ten years of work, I want to go to school, what can I learn? Why not? Now it's been 20 years for nothing. I have been with Pu Yi for 20 years, and my life is over.
In 2017, Yuliang's widow Aisin Gioro · Lishui visited King Gong's Mansion

However, it may be that he has been engaged in manual labor since he was released from prison, and the physical fitness of "the last Prince Gong" Yu Liang can be said to be quite good.
The old gentleman lived until he was 94 years old and died in 2016.
Yuliang got married late, and did not marry Ms. Gao Jinhua until 1963, when he was 40 years old.
Ms. Gao Jinhua was born in Dingxian County, Hebei Province in 1926 and worked in the First Ministry of Machinery Industry after graduating from North China University.
The two had a daughter after marriage, and after the reform and opening up, Ms. Gao Jinhua changed her name from her husband's surname to Aixin Jueluo · Lishui.
Mr. Yu Liang is very good at calligraphy, not only a member of the Beijing Calligraphers Association, but also his works have been collected by art museums in many overseas countries.
