Optics Valley No. 1 Primary School and Jinshui School pair assistance activities
In order to improve teachers' theoretical literacy, professional level and teaching practice ability, strengthen mutual cooperation and exchanges between teachers, discuss and solve practical problems in teaching, and comprehensively improve the quality of teaching, the Wuhan Municipal Education Bureau recently launched the urban and rural school pairing assistance project. In this context, Wuhan Optics Valley No. 1 Primary School (hereinafter referred to as "Optics Valley No. 1 Primary School") and Jiangxia District Jinshui School officially paired up to jointly open a new chapter in educational cooperation.
On September 24, 2024, we ushered in the first offline activity of Optics Valley No. 1 Primary School and Jinshui School, led by Principal Lu of Optics Valley No. 1 Elementary School, and led the backbone mathematics teacher Li Fei, Chinese backbone teacher Gong Nan, and English backbone teacher Li Jing to Jinshui School to carry out assistance activities.
This activity was highly valued by Principal Zeng Jianguo of Jinshui School, who participated in the whole process of this activity, and put forward the current problems of Jinshui School: the teaching team is younger, there is no professional teacher to lead, and teaching and research, lesson preparation, and daily routine still need to be improved.

Chinese group: In this school support activity, all the Chinese teachers of Jinshui School participated in the meeting, and Gong Nan, a teacher from Optics Valley, guided and solved doubts. They exchanged views on Chinese teaching methods, collective lesson preparation, and sharing of teaching resources. The teachers actively spoke, put forward their problems and confusions encountered in teaching, and jointly sought solutions. Through this discussion, we have a preliminary understanding between the two sides and have laid a good foundation for future assistance and cooperation.
Mathematics Group: Ms. Li Fei from Optics Valley Primary School met for the first time this semester with members of the Mathematics Group of Jinshui School. Teacher Li Fei elaborated on the goals and measures of mathematics this semester, which is not only the sharing of excellent educational resources in urban and rural areas, but also provides a rare learning opportunity for the growth of young teachers in Jinshui School. At the beginning of the discussion, Ms. Li Fei first gave a brief explanation of the basic situation of urban and rural students and the unique characteristics of mathematics, so as to "prescribe the right medicine" for the help work. Teacher Li Fei pointed out that students' learning habits are very important, and good study habits lay a good foundation for students to concentrate on learning in class. At the climax of the discussion, Ms. Li Fei and the mathematics group had an in-depth discussion on the current hot issues of mathematics education. The participating teachers said that this event not only broadened their horizons, but also provided them with valuable learning opportunities and a platform for growth.
English Group: First of all, the activity started, and the teachers got to know each other, so that they could communicate better in the future. Then we learned about the current situation of the English group of Jinshui School, and then the teachers raised their teaching confusions, and the teachers actively asked questions, and the atmosphere was lively. Teacher Wu Wen of Jinshui School proposed how to consolidate the basic knowledge, and then everyone shared their experience, and Li Jing, a teacher from Optics Valley Primary School, shared how to consolidate the basic knowledge, and she introduced the teaching methods she used, such as using fragmented time to consolidate, reading in the morning or reading the learned content five minutes before class, so that students can consolidate. Guo Lu, a teacher from Jinshui School, proposed that students do not understand their previous knowledge points in the classroom teaching process, what should they do? Principal Lu of Optics Valley suggested that teachers should arrange classroom teaching time flexibly, focusing on the important and difficult points of this lesson.
