Looking back at history, the revolution of the automobile began at the end of the 19th century.
At that time, in 1886, Carl · Benz introduced the world's first real automobile, the three-wheeled car.
This innovation has completely changed the way people travel.
Now, more than a century has passed, during which a large number of world-famous automobile giants such as Volkswagen, Toyota, and Ford have been born.
However, if you want to ask:
What are the characteristics of each of these giants? What are the auto giants in China? Maybe a lot of people can't say it.
Today, I will take 3 minutes to talk to you about this and what China has to offer!
01 Volkswagen Germany
Many people may not know about this car company, but Volkswagen's name in German is "Volkswagen" – "people's car".
Behind the name, there is a story of dreams and innovation.
In the 30s of the last century, cars were a luxury in Germany, enjoyed only by the wealthy classes.
For many ordinary people, owning a car is an almost unthinkable dream.
But all that changed under the influence of state power.
When Germany's new leader came to power in 1933, he wanted to achieve one goal through the car: to make every family have their own "car dream".
So, under his promotion, Volkswagen came into being.
Their dream is big, to design a car that is both economical and practical, under the name of "people's car", designed to meet the mobility needs of every family.
In 1940, with the advent of the Beetle, this dream finally became a reality.
Its simple yet attractive design was not only easy to produce, but also able to cope with the difficult economic situation in Germany at the time.
Since then, the model has become a legend, surpassing the sales record set by the Ford T in 1908-1927.
So, when you see a Volkswagen, remember that it is not just a car, it is a witness to a piece of history, the beginning of a legend.
02 Toyota, Japan
When it comes to Toyota, many people think of its "economy", but the story behind it is even more moving.
In the 30s of the last century, the automobile market in Japan was almost monopolized by United States brands.
Kiichiro Toyoda realized that automobiles would be a key industry in the future, and Japan could not always rely on imports.
Therefore, after inheriting his family's textile factory, he decided to transform into an automobile manufacturer and create a car brand that belongs to Japan.
However, the road to building a car was extremely difficult.
Lack of technology, lack of funds, lack of resources, Toyota started almost from scratch.
But he did not give up, and in 1936 the first "AA type" car was introduced, which, despite mediocre sales, laid the foundation for the future.
Toyota then introduced a revolutionary "Lean Manufacturing" model, which dramatically improved efficiency by reducing waste and "just-in-time production".
This innovation not only helped Toyota rise rapidly after World War II, but also changed the way production was done in the global manufacturing industry.
Today, Toyota, with its reliable economy and environmentally friendly technology, is one of the leaders in the global automotive industry.
03 Ford of United States
Regarding Ford, it may have decreased a lot in recent years, but looking back at history, it can even be called the "grandfather" of oil cars.
Why?
Because at the beginning of the 20th century, it was still the world of steam cars, followed by electric cars, and finally gasoline vehicles.
At that time, no one was optimistic about the future of oil trucks at all - because it was expensive, the stability was not good, and the experience was not good.
Therefore, most car companies are betting on the "tram".
But Ford changed that.
Henry · Ford not only saw the potential of fuel vehicles, but also greatly reduced the manufacturing cost of fuel vehicles through assembly line production.
This made the Model T the world's first mass-produced gasoline car affordable for ordinary families.
This breakthrough directly promoted the popularization of fuel vehicles and established the leadership position of fuel vehicles.
It can be said that without Ford, there would basically be no current gasoline cars...
So, don't underestimate this car company!
So here's the problem?
Since Germany has Volkswagen, Japan has Toyota, United States Ford, then what do we have in China?
That's a good question!
If we go back to the era of fuel vehicles, we really don't have a giant.
After all, the mainland's automobile industry started late and has a weak foundation, and for a long time, it can only rely on the help of foreign capital.
Especially in the era of pure oil vehicles, the domestic market is basically occupied by joint venture cars, and the market share of independent brands has never exceeded 50%.
But with the advent of the era of new energy, the situation is very different.
Brands such as Wenjie, Ideal, and NIO have even begun to compete directly with BBA, and there is even a trend of "half the world".
However, if you really want to represent Chinese automobiles, it must be "BYD".
Why?
Because in the first half of 2024, BYD will already rank 8th in the global car brand sales list with 1.394 million units.
It is the only Chinese brand in the top 10 on the list!
Not only that, many "multinational companies" have begun to put down their bodies, learn from BYD, and cooperate with BYD.
For example, Toyota and BYD cooperated to establish "BYD Toyota Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd.", aiming to use BYD's technology to generate its own new energy vehicles.
Not only that, but as early as 2022, it surpassed Tesla to become the world's largest new energy vehicle manufacturer by sales.
It is safe to say that it is the absolute king of global automobiles in the new energy era - there is no one!
At this stage, the best representative of Chinese automobiles!
