More than 30 years later, in 1987, the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway completed the electrification transformation, with a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour, and the time from the railway to Chengdu was shortened to about 10 hours. In 2015, the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway was completed and opened to traffic, and the time taken from Yongchuan to Chengdu was shortened to 50 minutes. On April 14, 2022, the special railway line of Yongchuan National High-tech Zone was officially put into operation, and the Great Wall Motors special train carrying 25 special carriages for transport vehicles, 195 "Great Wall guns" and "Tank 300" was launched, and drove out of Yongchuan Railingsan Railway Station in the sound of steam whistles and headed for Baoding, Hebei. This special railway line located in the Phoenix Lake Industrial Park of Yongchuan National High-tech Zone was transformed from the railing-beach station of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, with a capacity of 600,000 tons/year for cars, 500,000 tons/year for containers, and a total capacity of 1.1 million tons/year. Among them, the car loading and unloading line was almost repaired to the gate of the Yongchuan factory of Great Wall Motors, and there was only a bridge between the finished garage of the factory.
This is also one of the scenarios in which Yongchuan realizes the "passenger and freight diversion" of the railway. Up to now, Yongchuan has built 47 kilometers of Chengdu-Chongqing Railway and 33 kilometers of Chengdu-Chongqing High-speed Railway, realizing the "separation of passengers and freight". Yongchuan East Railway Station has more than 5 million passengers arriving and departing annually, directly reaching big cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. It is understood that the Yuyi section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway has been officially opened for operation on the 29th of this month, and after the opening, it will be connected to Yongchuan South Station, and Yongchuan will take the high-speed rail to Yibin in as fast as 37 minutes. It is expected that the entire line of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway will be opened in 2027, and Yongchuan will enter the era of "15 minutes to Chongqing, 50 minutes to Chengdu, and 2 hours to Kunming" high-speed railway.
At present, the Hechuan to Yongchuan section of the Chongqing Metropolitan Ring Railway project (C8 line of the municipal railway and the west ring line of the Chongqing railway) is carrying out preliminary work. At that time, Yongchuan will have a more convenient, efficient and fast railway network. Its role is self-evident, Yongchuan District strives to build a "four-way" east-west, north-south and outbound channel, relying on the Linjiang hub and railway line, directly expanding the three directions of China-Singapore, China-Myanmar and China-Laos, further reducing logistics costs and improving efficiency.

Since 2019, 3,000 kilometers of rural roads have been newly reconstructed in Yongchuan District, and up to now, the mileage of ordinary roads in Yongchuan District has reached 5,028.9 kilometers, of which the total mileage of rural roads has reached 4,574.2 kilometers, and the density of rural road network is 290.2 kilometers per 100 square kilometers, ranking among the top in the city. The city took the lead in realizing all the townships and towns through the third-level roads, the established villages through the grade roads and the larger population of the villagers through the hardened roads, and the towns and villages through the bus rate reached 100%. A good road network is a prerequisite for promoting rural revitalization. On April 29 this year, Zigong City handed over the first flight gift it gave to Yongchuan District at Zigong Fengming General Airport to commuters and put it in the cargo hold of the drone. Yongchuan plans to build Da'an Airport into a benchmark project for general airports in southwest China, and seize new opportunities for low-altitude economic development in accordance with the diversified development concept of "fixed-wing + helicopter, commuter operation + air tourism + general aviation operation + N". Open up new business formats such as experience flight and low-altitude logistics. This is the first unmanned demonstration operation project of L4 autonomous driving minibus and online car-hailing in China.
Why does smart transportation choose Yongchuan as the "budding place"? This is closely related to the advance planning and layout of Yongchuan Transportation.
The relevant person in charge of the Yongchuan District Transportation Commission said that in September 2020, Yongchuan joined hands with Baidu and China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. to jointly launch the construction of the "Western Autonomous Driving Open Test Base", which is China's first L4 autonomous driving open test and demonstration operation base. As of September 2024, 1,446 kilometers of autonomous driving open test roads have been built at the base, and Baidu has invested 52 autonomous vehicles in Yongchuan, with a total test mileage of 3.75 million kilometers.
Yongchuan's layout of smart transportation does not stop there. Based on the construction of smart transportation, the Municipal Traffic Law Enforcement Corps first launched the scenario application of "Traceability of Truck Overrun Illegal Behaviors", and officially launched the pilot in Yongchuan District on February 4, 2024.
Since the launch of the multi-cross event disposal application of "Traceability of Truck Overrun Illegal Behaviors", the efficiency of traceability and disposal of overrun cases has been greatly improved, the case information has become more true, complete and accurate, the flow of traceability events has been reduced from the original 10 steps to 4 steps, the time to complete the disposal task has been reduced from an average of 30 working days to less than 10 working days, and the handling personnel has been reduced from an average of 10 people/case to 3-5 people/case.
