Recently, a number of airlines announced that they will reduce fuel surcharges for domestic routes from October 5, 2024 (ticket issuance date). In this adjustment, the fuel surcharge will be 10 yuan per passenger for routes below 800 km (inclusive), and the fuel surcharge for each passenger on routes above 800 km will be 20 yuan.
In order to reduce the risk of jet fuel price fluctuations to a certain extent and ensure the operation of airlines, airlines can independently determine the standard of passenger fuel surcharge collection for domestic routes within the prescribed scope.
Aviation officials said that domestic routes will levy fuel surcharges and adopt a mechanism linked to aviation kerosene prices, which will be adjusted accordingly by the impact of oil price fluctuations.
It is understood that the fuel surcharge adjustment will be the third reduction in the year after January and June this year. It is important to note that the fuel surcharge price is calculated based on the time of ticket issuance. Tickets issued after 5 October will be eligible for the new price. For tickets issued before October 5, even if you travel on October 15, the fuel surcharge is still the original 30 yuan and 50 yuan.
