Recently, the website of the Xishan District Government released the "Announcement of the Xishan Branch of the Kunming Ecological Environment Bureau on the acceptance of the "Kunming Dianchi National Scenic Area Xishan Longmen Cableway Upgrading and Renovation Project" on September 24, 2024. According to the content of the announcement, Xishan District Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. will invest 127.0857 million yuan to start the upgrading and transformation project of Xishan Longmen Cableway in Kunming Dianchi National Scenic Area.
The equipment is old and has reached the end of its useful life
The project is located in the Xishan Scenic Area of Dianchi National Scenic Area in Kunming, the starting and ending points of the cableway are Longmen Station and Taihua Station, the cableway starts from the next station Taihua Station, and the overall length of the ropeway is 1100 meters from north to south.
The current situation of Xishan Longmen Cableway was approved by the then Kunming Municipal Urban and Rural Development Committee in 1993, and was constructed and put into operation by the Kunming Municipal Garden Bureau at that time, and in 1995, the Kunming Municipal Garden Bureau established the Cableway Management Office, which is responsible for the operation and management of the cableway. The ropeway has been in operation for more than 30 years, and at present, due to the old equipment, it has reached the service life, and the current decommissioning, the project is implemented according to the new project. The original 1,100-meter-long cableway, the upper and lower stations of the cableway, and the towers and other supporting ancillary facilities along the cableway were upgraded and renovated.
After field survey and repeated comparison and demonstration of multiple schemes, the project construction plan has been optimized. The upper and lower station buildings are reconstructed on the basis of the original station building, the cableway line maintains the original direction, the length remains unchanged, and the tower base is constructed using the original tower foundation foundation, and no new land is added for construction. Fully rely on the original tourism facilities in the scenic area (patrol road, plank road, fire isolation channel, upper and lower station buildings, etc.) to carry out upgrading and transformation.
The proposed project involves occupying the land within the planning scope of the scenic spot, and the tower base is reduced from the original 24 to 12, of which, the original 1 tower base in the station is retained, 13 original tower bases are demolished and vegetation restoration is carried out, and the restoration area is 325 square meters, 9 tower bases are rebuilt in the original position, and 3 tower bases are located within the scope of the existing station building land, and there is no new land occupation.
Project composition
The main construction contents of the ropeway include the upper station of the ropeway (Longmen Station), the lower station of the ropeway (Taihua Station), the cableway line, the middle support of the cableway (12 seats), auxiliary facilities, etc.
The ropeway from Taihua Station to Longmen Station has a horizontal distance of 1,100 meters and a height difference of 126.9 meters. Adopt a single-line circulating unhanging ropeway with 8-person gondola. The distance and height difference of the ropeway are unchanged from the original cableway, and the direction remains the same. The original 2-person gondola was changed to an 8-person gondola.
(1) Upgrading and transformation of ropeway
Hourly capacity: 2000 people/hour. It adopts the world's advanced level of single-line circulating detachable rope holder eight-person gondola horizontal traveling ropeway, with a maximum speed of 6 m/s. The upper station is a roundabout tensioning station. The lower station is the drive station, close to the road. The scheme adopts the direct drive drive type, which does not require the final reducer, which saves the basement drive space that is usually used for noise reduction, and greatly avoids the noise generated by the ordinary suspended drive machine.
(2) Taihua Station
Current situation: Taihua Station is located in the Longmen Scenic Area, close to the entrance of the scenic spot. It includes three parts: station room, staff canteen and logistics room. Taihua Station adopts the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties, the attic of the top of the whole palace, the shape is concise, but the details are rich, and it is decorated with "Qing-style color painting", in addition to the color painting has a decorative effect, it can also increase the anti-corrosion and moth-proof property of the wood. The depth of the eaves is small, the bucket arch is omitted, and the architectural form is refined and symbolic. The color of the building is mainly red and gray, with white accents, creating a comfortable visual effect.
Renovation situation: The original Taihua station remains unchanged, the original logistics room is renovated, barrier-free design and fire protection design are added, and the original functional deficiencies are made up for and the transportation capacity is expanded.
The architectural style remains unchanged, retains the complete façade of the original Taihua Station (facing the side of the entrance of the scenic spot), keeps the original building height unchanged, and the renovated part also follows the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties, using a combination of sloping roof and flat roof, and the building façade adopts traditional architectural colors.
(3) Longmen Station
Current situation: Longmen Station is located in a small stone forest near the top of the mountain in Xishan Scenic Area, and the current situation is a two-story building. The negative floor is for tourist service functions; The functions of the first floor are the cable car pick-up and drop-off areas, the cable car control room, and the automatic ticket office.
Longmen Station adopts a slightly modern sloping roof building form, with Southeast Asian style, white walls and red tiles, dougong is also simplified into a refined cross beam decoration, and the entrance of the cable car station is a corridor space.
Renovation: Longmen Station is a renovated building, and on the basis of meeting the functional requirements of cableway facilities and equipment, the functions of tourist service center, viewing terrace and supporting service room are added.
The architectural style adopts the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The combination of sloping roof and flat roof is adopted, and the façade of the building adopts traditional architectural colors to retain historical traces. The entrance to the cable car station is a corridor space, and only glass canopies are added to the upper and lower visitor areas, so that the building is well integrated with the environment.
Ropeway design
(1) Forecast of tourist volume
According to the statistics related to the tourism reception volume of the cableway in the Xishan Scenic Area in the past 7 years, the average annual reception volume of the cableway tourists in the Xishan Scenic Area is about 799,600, with an average annual growth rate of about 12.5%. After 2023, the ropeway will receive 1,406,100 visitors, and it is expected to reach 1,780,000 in 2025, operating 300 days a year, 8 hours a day, or 5,933 people/d, 742 people/h.
(2) The current situation of ropeway
The current situation of Xishan Longmen Cableway is located in the Xishan area of Kunming Dianchi National Scenic Area, approved in 1993, the whole line of the cableway is equipped with two station houses, 24 towers, the use of circulating fixed ropeway cableway two-person chair type, the horizontal projection distance of the cableway line is 1100 meters, the average one-way traffic is 600 people per hour, the upper station is Longmen Station, the lower station is Taihua Station, and the height difference between the top of the two stations is about 126.9 meters.
It has been in operation for more than 30 years. The lower station house is an antique building, the upper station house is a Southeast Asian style building, the original line has a total of 24 supports, and the ropeway type is a single-line circulating double chairlift cableway, in accordance with the new national standards and inspection requirements, the length of this type of new cableway is not allowed to exceed 400 meters.
(3) Ropeway type selection
The ropeway line is 1100 meters long, the height difference is large, the terrain conditions are complex, in order to ensure the safety of tourists, the ropeway must use closed carriages. At present, the annual passenger flow of Xishan Scenic Area is very large, and the transportation volume of the detachable cableway can meet the requirements of the cableway is 2000 people/hour.
In February this year, the leaders of Xishan District said at the third meeting of the 17th District People's Congress that this year they will upgrade the Longmen Cableway and other supporting facilities in the Xishan Scenic Area to ensure that the number of tourists exceeds 5.4 million and accelerate the creation of 5A-level scenic spots; It will also integrate 1,081 acres of land in Jingqian District, introduce high-end hotels, cultural performances, tourist towns and other projects, and rely on the stock of Wangdian Yayuan to actively build a health care complex and vigorously develop the silver economy.
Kunming West Mountain is located on the west bank of Dianchi Lake, also known as Biji Mountain, the Yuan Dynasty was the first of the "Eight Views of Southern Yunnan". The Ming Dynasty was the crown of the "Four Famous Mountains of Yunnan". "Six Views of Yunnanyang" is known as "Blue Chicken Autumn Color"; In the "Eight Views of Kunming" in the Qing Dynasty, the "Night Moon of Dianchi Lake" is the night moon of the West Mountain of Dianchi Lake; In contemporary times, it is the "Sleeping Beauty Mountain, Longmen Feizhi" of the "Sixteen Views of Kunming".
Overlooking the peaks of the West Mountain, it is not only like a huge sleeping Buddha, but also like a sleeping beauty. Therefore, the West Mountain is called "Reclining Buddha Mountain", also known as "Sleeping Beauty Mountain".
"Longmen Scenic View" is characterized by "strange, unique, dangerous and secluded", and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.
After the upgrading and transformation of the Longmen Cableway in Xishan Scenic Area, not only the safety and comfort will be greatly improved, but also the reception and service level of the scenic spot can also be improved, and the quality and upgrading of the scenic spot will be improved.
