More than 20 years ago, Wu Ping's family moved to live in the streets of Liangcheng New Village, although he was not an "indigenous resident" here, but he was very familiar with this area.

"I first lived on North Sichuan Road, then moved to Linfen Community in Jing'an District, and finally moved into Liangcheng Xincun Street. The two places I have lived in before are not far from Liangcheng, so when I was younger, I often passed through this area. ”

In the 90s of the last century, Wu usually rode his bicycle through the jurisdiction of Liangcheng Xincun Street. He said that at that time, it was still in the category of Jiangwan Town, and it was an idyllic scene, with frogs and cicadas chirping endlessly.

Unexpectedly, more than ten years later, farmland cottages were gradually replaced by rows of residential buildings. In 2001, Wu Ping moved into the community of Lane 633 of Guangzhong Road and became a resident of Liangcheng Xincun Street, and since then he has formed an "indissoluble bond" with this street.

In 2019, Building 1, where Wu Ping lives, became a "model" for Liangcheng Xincun Street, and was the first unit building in the street to be equipped with an elevator.

"At that time, it was still rare to install elevators, and I lived on the 6th floor, so I was very motivated. If we can install an elevator in our unit building, it will not only be convenient for our family, but also do a good thing for our neighbors. ”

The process of installing elevators involves multiple steps and related departments, and in order to successfully install them, Wu Ping took over this "drudgery".

"At that time, there was no precedent for the installation of elevators in the street, and I was confused at first, and it took me a year to complete the procedures with various materials and documents."

Although it was troublesome in the early stage, the completed elevator still brought great convenience to the residents of the whole building. "At that time, many people came to visit our unit building, and I introduced them to the process of installing elevators and shared my experience with them."

So, 5 years on, how is this elevator running? Wu Ping couldn't wait to praise: "It's very stable, and the quality is good!" It's really easy to go up and down the stairs! ”

Nowadays, residents who are willing to install elevators no longer have to be like Wu Ping, holding various materials by themselves, groping and applying at the same time. "Now the process of installing elevators is more convenient and the procedures are simpler. I hope that more elderly people will be like us and realize the 'freedom of going up and down the stairs' as soon as possible." ”

After retiring, the enthusiastic Wu Ping became a "volunteer photographer" on the street, giving his hobby more "usefulness". So, in his eyes, what is the biggest change in the street?

Wu Ping mentioned Yu Jingpu, "I watched Yu Jingpu change little by little, at first it was a stinky river, but now you look at it again, it's very different!" How good the landscape belt on both sides of the river is! ”

Yujingpu is located in the west of Hongkou District, starting from Zoumatang and ending at Jiaxing Road and Bridge, belonging to the Wusong River water system. Today's Yujingpu has become a good leisure place for nearby residents, and while the scenery on both sides of the river is improved, a plastic trail has been built next to the river to facilitate residents to exercise and exercise.

The road is wider, the community is beautiful, and the living environment is better...... Talking about his street changes, Wu Ping has a lot to say. Living here for more than 20 years, Wu Ping has witnessed the changes in the community with his photos.

As for the future of the street, Wu Ping also has a lot of expectations, and the most anticipated is the subway that will lead to Liangcheng in the near future. "Metro Line 19 and Line 20 will pass through our Liangcheng, I hope that day will come soon!"
