When it comes to the home environment, the big thing of decoration has to be put on the table. Decoration is full of expectations and often headaches.
Many people will always leave all kinds of regrets when they decorate for the first time because they have little experience. But don't worry, with a second chance to renovate, we'll be able to learn our lessons and make smarter choices.
Just like me, it's been a year since I stayed for the second time, and the more I stayed, the more comfortable I became. Why? Because I stuck to 5 super wise decisions. Let's talk about it carefully.
1, "Hide two and expose eight"
The first time I renovated, I listened to someone else and made all the cabinets closed.
At first, it looked quite regular, but as the days went by, I felt very depressed.
For the second renovation, I adopted the design principle of "hiding two and revealing eight".
What does that mean? Eighty percent of cabinets are closed, used to store things that are not often taken out or have to be hidden.
The other two cabinets are made into open storage compartments, which can be used to put some decorations, books, photos and the like.
In this way, the home is both beautiful and lively, and it is also very convenient to take commonly used things.
2. Empty grid without bottom plate
The first time I renovated, I didn't think much about the practicality of the bottom of the cabinet.
For example, the bottom of the bedroom wardrobe and the bottom of the kitchen cabinet are equipped with shelves, but it turns out that it is not very practical to use.
At the bottom of the wardrobe in the bedroom, because of the shelves, there is no place to put large items such as trolley boxes and storage boxes.
If there is a shelf at the bottom of the kitchen cupboard, the trolley is not easy to use.
The second time I renovated, I left the bottom of the bedroom wardrobe blank so that I could easily enlarge the items.
The bottom of the kitchen cupboard is also empty, and a small cart can be put in it to fill some vegetables, fruits, etc., which is practical.
3. The socket is enough
The first time I renovated, I heard that the more sockets, the better, but there were a lot of sockets installed at home, and after living in, I found that many of them could not be used, which was a waste of money and affected the appearance.
For the second decoration, I insisted that the sockets were enough, and the number of sockets was arranged according to the actual needs of each room.
For example, in the living room, install a few sockets next to the sofa, on the TV background wall and in the corner of the wall, and use them to plug in mobile phone chargers, TVs, stereos, and other equipment.
As for the bedroom, just install a few next to the bedside and desk, plug in the lamp, mobile phone charger, computer or something.
I also chose a socket with a USB port, which is convenient for charging my phone and tablet without using a charger plug.
Now the number of sockets in the home is just right, which can meet daily needs without looking messy.
4. The shoe cabinet is expanded
When I renovated for the first time, I made a simple shoe cabinet in the hallway, and at first I thought it was okay, but then there were more and more shoes, and I couldn't put it down at all.
Shoes are scattered everywhere, in the hallway and under the bed, which is not only unsightly, but also easy to breed bacteria.
In the second renovation, I changed half of the balcony storage cabinet into a shoe cabinet, and now there is more storage space for shoes.
I also designed some open compartments at the bottom of the wardrobe to hold shoes as well.
The inside of the shoe cabinet is layered to make the shoes more organized.
There is also a dedicated storage area for heels and boots.
5. The more cabinets, the better
When I renovated for the first time, I thought that the cabinet was enough, not too much, but after living in, I found that the cabinet was never enough.
There are more and more things at home, and there is no place to put them.
The second time I renovated, I installed cabinets everywhere despite my family's objections.
Wardrobes, bathroom cabinets, balcony cabinets, entryway cabinets, TV cabinets, every space is utilized.
The wardrobe is large, with a hanging area, a stacking area, and a drawer for underwear and socks.
Equipped with a pull-out basket and trouser rack, it is more convenient to store clothes.
The bathroom cabinet is also large, and it can store toiletries, cleaning products, and toilet paper.
The balcony cabinet can be used as a small workspace for clutter.
The entrance cabinet is the first scenery when entering the door, which can put shoes, bags, as well as a shoe-changing stool and a coat hook, which is very practical.
The TV cabinet can be used for books, magazines, remote controls, and as a display area.
Having lived for more than a year, these decisions were so wise, there was a place for everything in the house, it was clean and tidy, and it was in a good mood.
Finally, I hope that everyone can also consider their actual needs when decorating, make a wise choice, and create a warm home of their own.
