Girls have always been very careful about the color of their menstruation, and if it is lighter this time and darker next time, it will make people nervous: Is there something wrong with my body?
In fact, the vast majority of menstrual colors are normal. It's not just bright red blood that is healthy, it's possible to have dark or light menstrual color when it flows through the vagina or with mucus.
However, there are indeed some abnormal colors to watch out for, and it is best to go to the hospital for consultation in time. Let's talk about normal menstrual colors and menstrual colors that we should pay more attention to.
These four types of menstrual colors, there is no need to be anxious
1. Pink
When menstrual blood flow is low, some fresh, bright red blood may mix with vaginal secretions, causing them to become lighter and more pink.
Pink menstrual blood is more likely to occur at the beginning of menstruation, which is normal and nothing to worry about.
2. Bright red
When the menstrual period enters the "peak flow" and actively bleeds, the blood "flow" is fast, relatively "fresh", and is not oxidized by the oxygen in the air in time, so it is more likely to be bright red.

3. Dark red
When the menstrual blood flow decreases, or the blood is not excreted in time, after a period of time, the iron ions in the blood are oxidized, and the color of the blood darkens into dark red menstrual blood. This is also normal and there is nothing to worry about.
During the various stages of menstruation, the "endometrium" is shed, so it is completely normal for us to see not only blood or "blood clots", but also a small amount of fleshy tissue.
4. Brown or blackish
The color of this menstrual blood is the result of deep oxidation of iron ions and often indicates that menstrual blood has taken longer to flow out of the vagina. Sometimes, towards the end of menstruation, dark blood mixes with vaginal secretions and ends up brown.

These two types of menstrual colors need to be paid attention to
1. Orange
There are two possible reasons for the appearance of orange menstrual blood:
- The result of cervical fluid mixed with blood, if it occurs at a non-menstrual time, may be a sign of conception (intrauterine or extrauterine).
- It may be a sign of infection, such as bacterial vaginosis, or a sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. The resulting vaginal discharge is abnormal in color and texture, and sometimes it becomes this color when mixed with menstrual blood.
2. Gray or green
Gray or green menstrual blood is usually a sign of infection, such as bacterial vaginosis, gonococcal vaginitis, etc. In associated inflammation, leucorrhea mixes with menstrual blood and may appear gray or green menstrual blood.
If you have any of the above orange, gray, or green menstrual colors, it is recommended that you consult a doctor as soon as possible. The following questions you may be concerned about can be viewed here. 👇
