The Double Ninth Festival, also known as the Dogwood Festival and the Filial Piety Festival, originated from the ancient custom of autumn travel and disaster. China takes "nine" as the yang, so it is called the Double Ninth Festival, and because "nine" is the number of the yang, it symbolizes the longevity of the elderly. The Chung Yeung Festival is approaching, and 20 groups of families dressed in Chinese element costumes recently walked into the Huangdaopo Memorial Park, a national intangible cultural heritage Wunijing cotton textile inheritance base. They visited the Xianmian Memorial Hall and the urban cotton field, and celebrated the festival in cultural lectures and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts.
In the well-arranged Chongyang scene, a micro-lecture titled "Double Ninth Day, Strong Family and National Conditions" led everyone to have an in-depth understanding of the evolution of traditional Chinese Chongyang Festival and the spiritual connotation of the festival. In the fragrance of chrysanthemum tea and the recitation of Chongyang poems, the grandchildren tasted the Chongyang cake together, planted the Chongyang flag, and the grandchildren gave tea salute to the elders.
Lin Xiumei is the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage Wunijing cotton textile skills at the district level, and usually Lin Xiumei gives spinning classes to the young students of the intangible cultural heritage inheritance class, and she is also the watchman of the "urban cotton field" in the memorial park. In the process of carefully cultivating cotton, she also took the little cotton blossom docents to plow and pick together to train them in cotton knowledge. The Chung Yeung Festival activities are particularly special for Lin Xiumei, who formed a special filial piety and respect for the elderly with Li Yuchen, a student from the Huazhan Campus of Gao'an Road No. 1 Primary School.
Li Yuchen just participated in the training activities of the little cotton docent in the Huang Daopo Memorial Park in the summer, and was deeply moved by the spirit of Huang Daopo's "love for the people and enrich the people, selfless dedication". "This time, I participated in the Chongyang intangible cultural heritage handicraft with Grandma Lin, the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, in the hope of returning my love and filial piety to the kind elders like Grandma Lin who care for the growth of the next generation, and to give back to the society and warm more people like cotton blossoms." Li Yuchen believes that this is the best way to practice the spirit of Xianmian.
At the event, a group of families who liked the combination were also very warm. Hua Siyu, an exchange student from Italy, came to Shanghai and was taken care of by Chinese families, and this time she and her Chinese sister Hua Siqi presented sweet Chongyang cake to their grandmother, and felt China's unique culture of filial piety and respect for the elderly.
The "Double Ninth Festival" has always been known as the custom of respecting the elderly to defend against the cold winter. In ancient times, the Chongyang Day Dyeing Workshop wanted to worship the two immortals of the ancestors of the industry, "Mei Fu" and "Ge Hong". In the handmade "paper pattern silk wool cloth", Liu Yao, executive director of Huang Daopo Memorial Park, led everyone to understand the cultural significance of dyeing yellow of the Chinese plant gardenia. Then she introduced that the paper pattern is a traditional Chinese auspicious pattern, which is a rounded arc curl or square twist of the swirl line, the pattern is endless, symbolizing the long history, endless life and peace and auspiciousness, and the folk also have the meaning of "wealth and prosperity, many sons and blessings, prosperity".
The Double Ninth Festival is the ninth festival since the Huang Daopo Memorial Park has created a traditional festival brand, and it is also the harvest of cotton fields in September, Dr. Fang Yun, the academic consultant of Huang Daopo Memorial Park, said that the "great love" of Huang Daopo to warm the world with cotton has blessed the people of Li and promoted the prosperity of the cotton weaving industry in the south of the Yangtze River, so it is respected as the "Yellow Mother" by the people. On the occasion of the Chung Yeung Festival, through the family grandparents to make plant-dyed scarves and let the children tie them for the elderly, on the one hand, we hope to let the children cherish the hard-won "thread and wisp" and cultivate a correct concept of labor; On the other hand, it is a family concept that cherishes the hard work of the grandparents and cultivates filial piety.
