In the golden autumn season, good news came from Wanhe Wisdom Sheep Farm located in Aiguo Village, Zhongxing Town. The first batch of Chongming goats conceived using embryo transfer technology have successfully given birth to 19 lambs.
In the Wanhe Wisdom Sheep Farm of Zhongxing Town Chongming Goat Group, rows of neat sheep houses are located in the green fields, and when they enter the sheep house, the newborn lamb is still unstable, hiding behind the mother sheep, vigilantly looking at the surrounding situation, and making a "bleating" cry from time to time.
It is understood that the birth of this batch of lambs marks the initial results of the rapid expansion plan of Chongming goats. Through a series of cutting-edge technologies such as live egg collection, in vitro fertilization, and embryo transfer, the multiplication plan will realize the "eugenics and multiplication" of Chongming goats and greatly improve the reproductive efficiency of purebred white goats.
In addition, in Wanhe Smart Sheep Farm, there is a set of "sheep face recognition" system, the reporter can see through the large screen, the system can accurately identify each sheep, real-time monitoring of the health status and behavioral characteristics of the sheep. Which sheep is about to give birth and which sheep is sick, the system can be keenly detected so that it can respond in time. As soon as the ewes are found to be in labor, the staff will immediately transfer the ewes to the farrowing room for special care and management. Fan Jun, director of Wanhe Wisdom Sheep Farm, said: "The gestation period of sheep is 143 days, and about 120 days, we will transfer the 'sheep mother' to the delivery room to wait for delivery. After giving birth, the 'mother sheep' will spend about 2 months with the lambs. The lambs then enter the fattening period and are slaughtered at around 12 months. ”
In recent years, Wanhe Smart Sheep Farm has adopted a number of smart technologies to help Chongming goat breeding and breeding. According to reports, within three years, Wanhe Smart Sheep Farm is confident that it will expand the Chongqing goat population to 10,000 through this technology in order to better meet market demand.
