Manchester United's management met over two days in Manchester and London and were expected to be important in deciding the departure of manager Ten Hag. Tuesday's convention lasted six or seven hours, but the Reds' hierarchy, led by boss Sir Jim · Ratcliffe, remained silent and did not comment on the change of manager. That means Ten Hag will continue to lead the team in the Premier League game at home to Brentford on 19 October.
After winning the FA Cup last season, Ten Hag was able to stay on the job after being vetted by Rajue and Manchester United's hierarchy this summer, albeit with a change of coaching staff. In July, sporting director ·Dan Ashworth and chief executive Omar · Berada took office, and they also expressed their support for Ten Hag and have been heavily supportive in the transfer market, bringing in Yoro, Zirkze, De Ligt, Mazraoui and Ugarte. At the time, Old Trafford was full of optimism that the team had made significant progress in management.
However, Ten Hag's record is worse than at the start of last season, with eight points from seven games, five goals scored and a goal difference of -3, setting a new record for the worst start to the Premier League in team history. The talk of Ten Hag's sacking is heating up again, with United clarifying ahead of the games against Porto and Aston Villa that he will continue to lead the team. Both games were drawn, with the on-site Largard refusing to answer questions about whether he believed Ten Hag.
Simon · Jordan, a well-known "big mouth" in the Premier League, pointed to the good face of Manchester United's top management, and worried that sacking Ten Hag in a few months would make him look like a clown. Moreover, it is not easy to change managers after the start of the season, and many well-known coaches do not like to take over a mess in the middle of the season.
Manchester United sources insist that the high-level meeting is just a regular monthly meeting of the executive committee and there is no reason to expect a statement about the manager's departure.
But BBC United Kingdom United Kingdom Broadcaster Simon · Stone confirmed club officials did say the team's performance could be discussed at the board meeting in London. But they didn't discuss the results publicly, and Rajue left in a car through the back door of the office, which was inaccessible to people. Stone contacted Manchester United board member and INEOS sports chief executive Jean-Claude · Brown, who politely declined to comment.
This means Ten Hag is still the United boss and he is still on holiday, as is customary during the international break. Barring a dramatic change, the 54-year-old Netherlands will return to Carrington next week to prepare for the Premier League clash with Brentford. A source told ESPN that Ten Hag has been in contact with members of his coaching staff who remain in Manchester.
Manchester United have never sacked a manager in October, compared to Premier League rivals who have been much more decisive, with Tottenham seeing off Mauricio Pochettino this month and Liverpool sacking Brendan Rodgers after a draw with Everton in 2015 and bringing in Jurgen Klopp, despite a six-game unbeaten run at the time.
Manchester United have seven games to go before the November international break, starting with Brentford on Saturday and will also face West Ham United, Chelsea and Leicester City in the Premier League, as well as Fenerbahce and Theokssaloniki in the Europa League, before Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
The management may feel that Ten Hag can take advantage of this period of lack of opponents to change the unfavourable situation in the league. With the exception of Chelsea, who finish in the top four, the rest of the Premier League opponents are teams in the bottom half of the league, with Brentford 11th, West Ham 12th and Leicester 15th.
