Recently, some residents have reported that a large number of Fushou snail eggs have appeared on the river embankment near Kangzhuang Bridge in Baoying Jinhu Fishing Village, and the scene is very scary. After receiving the news, the reporter quickly went to the scene to check.
On the embankment on both sides of the Kangzhuang Bridge, clusters of pink Fushou snail eggs are densely distributed, looking like a shocking "red spot" from a distance. Up close, the eggs are granular and clinging to the stones, grasses, and aquatic plants of the riverbank. Nearby villagers have expressed concern, with some villagers saying that they had never seen so many Fushou snail eggs last year, lamenting the speed of their reproduction. Another villager stressed that the snail carries a large number of parasites and is inedible.
It is understood that as an invasive alien species, Fushou snail has strong adaptability and amazing reproduction speed. A large number of snails will not only destroy the local ecological balance, but also pose a serious threat to agricultural production. The parasites carried in its body, such as Angiostrongyloides, can cause serious health problems if they accidentally enter the human body.
At present, the reporter has reported the situation to the relevant departments. Relevant departments said that they will attach great importance to this issue, strengthen the monitoring and management of the surrounding waters, and formulate a scientific and reasonable prevention and eradication plan as soon as possible to protect the local ecological environment and the health and safety of residents. At the same time, it also calls on the general public to raise their awareness of alien species, do not release alien organisms at will, and jointly contribute to the maintenance of ecological balance.
