The China-Laos Railway runs from Kunming, Yunnan Province in the north to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, with a total length of 1,035 kilometers, and has become a "golden channel" connecting internal and external areas, serving people's livelihood and helping economic development with its unique geographical location and strategic value, with a total of 40 million passengers and more than 45 million tons of goods, including more than 10 million tons of cross-border goods. It has not only brought tangible benefits to the people of China and Laos, but also injected strong impetus into the prosperity and development of the regional economy. With the continuous increase in passenger and freight traffic, the benefits of the "golden line" have become increasingly prominent, and the China-Laos Railway has become a road of development, happiness and friendship in the hearts of the people of the two countries.
In the face of the cross-border travel boom during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays and the busy scene of international freight, the line equipment of the China-Laos Railway is also facing unprecedented challenges. The wear and tear of equipment caused by the high-frequency operation of trains, coupled with the perennial high temperature and rainy climate conditions in Laos, have changed the geometric dimensions of the line, which has brought a certain impact on the safety of railway transportation.
In order to eliminate the safety risks caused by the long-term high-load operation of the China-Laos Railway, the railway departments of China and Laos have worked closely together to make overall arrangements, and the China section has dispatched 5 large-scale road maintenance machinery and more than 50 professional operators to carry out the fine adjustment construction of the line. The Laos section selected 24 business backbones and 2 high-precision large-scale road maintenance machinery to invest in tamping construction and maintenance work to jointly guard this road of friendship connecting the people of the two countries.
"The stability and comfort of passengers not only depend on advanced and intelligent EMUs, but also on the safety and smoothness of the rail line." Xie Dongsheng, the person in charge of the construction of the Kunming Public Works Machinery Section of the Kunming Bureau of the National Railway, said: "We operate large-scale road maintenance machinery, adjust the elasticity of the track bed, maintain a reasonable gap of the stone ballast, improve the drainage performance, and ensure that the rails, sleepers, turnout cores and track beds are fully fitted, so that the geometric dimensions of the line can be restored to within the safe range." ”
It is reported that the maintenance and construction of the China-Laos Railway will last until the end of December, and it is expected to complete the tamping of 136 groups of turnouts and 112 kilometers of line tamping construction in the Chinese section, as well as the maintenance of more than 150 kilometers of lines in the Laos section, which will further improve the quality of the equipment of the China-Laos Railway and contribute to the construction of the "Belt and Road".
