Water ripples, swirl patterns, circle patterns, geometric patterns, zigzag patterns, grid patterns, frog patterns, gourd patterns...... There are also some mysterious symbols, covered with painted pottery bodies of various sizes. In ancient times, these bottles and cans were the most advanced production and living utensils created by our ancestors with wisdom. There may have been many other tools in their lives, but after thousands of years, they have become one with the earth, and there is no trace of these objects anymore. Our pottery appeared thousands of years later, as if to tell us that this is not a lonely place, in this land, life is endless, industrious and brave human beings have created a brilliant civilization, everything is in the wheel of history, constantly moving forward, galloping.

The Gansu and Qinghai regions can be said to be one of the earliest areas in China where field archaeology began. Beginning in 1923, Sweden geologist Andersen conducted archaeological surveys in northwest China and discovered a number of ancient ruins, according to which the prehistoric culture of northwest China was divided into six periods. Among them, the painted pottery produced at the site of Banshan is called the "Mid-Levels Period", and the painted pottery found at the site of Machangyuan is called the "Machang Period". At that time, foreign scholars generally believed that our Chinese civilization was transmitted from abroad. However, through the unremitting efforts of our domestic scholars, it has been proved that our Chinese civilization is independently pioneered and developed by us Chinese, and it is a civilization independent of the forest of nations in the world. With the development of archaeological excavations and the accumulation of materials, it can be proved that Yangshao culture is earlier than Majiayao culture, and the spread direction of Majiayao culture in Northwest China is from east to west. Around 3400 years ago, the painted pottery culture entered the eastern part of Xinjiang, and it was not until around the Han Dynasty that it finally disappeared in Xinjiang.
