See a very philosophical story. I've told this story in my previous articles about anxiety and depression, but I've found that as my cognition improves, I feel that some things can be said with more connotation-

Two monks crossed the river. There was a young girl by the river. But because the river was too fast, the girl did not dare to go into the water, so she turned to two monks for help, hoping that they would carry her across the river.

The little monk considered the difference between men and women, so he refused. And the old monk didn't say a word, and directly carried the girl across the river.

After crossing the river, go their own way. The two monks continued on their way.

The little monk was always confused in his heart, so he asked the old monk: "Master, monks are not close to women. Why did you carry that girl across the river? ”

The master hesitated for a moment and said, "I've already put it down, why are you still carrying it?" ”

The little monk suddenly realized......

I'm sure you've probably heard this story at some point. The master in this story is indeed open-minded. I thought it was very good a few years ago. The previous sentence "I have already let go" refers to the body turned its back and put it down. And the latter sentence "Why are you still carrying it" refers to the fact that the little monk is still worried about it. I think that's been said very well. But for me now, I'm going to change that sentence to "I haven't memorized it, and why haven't you put it down?" Such a sentence goes straight to the core and says it directly from the heart.

Do you know why I say, "I didn't carry it"? Because I don't have that obstacle psychologically, there is no "ghost" at all, and I don't have those ideas of being a woman and taking advantage. Just helping others with fate, helping others without stopping, this is "never remembered".

And "Why haven't you let go yet" directly pointed out the little monk's inner obstacle and persistence. Wouldn't it be cleaner in this way directly from the perspective of the mind? Which one do you prefer? Feel free to leave a message in the comment area.

This metaphorical story is a good interpretation of Bodhidharma's sentence "Sin is born from the heart, and it is destroyed from the heart". In this way, everyone can understand why religion says that "the center of gravity is not the same". Why did Jigong say that "wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Buddha stays in his heart".

This is also what people asked me before, saying, "If you study psychology, won't you be angry?" "Anger is anger, what does this have to do with psychology. What matters is not what you do or what you show, but whether your heart is obstructed or not. Some people are never angry, but their hearts have been depressed, the surface is calm, but the inside is turbulent, is this really good?

If anger isn't a problem, is anxiety a problem? Is depression a problem?

If that's not a problem, why do we want to eradicate anxiety and depression? Why bother?

At the end of the article, I recommend a good self-healing book "Emotional Self-Help" for friends who are anxious and depressed, and I believe that the methods in the book will be of good help to you.
