When we need to drive at high speeds every day, if it comes to charging in the high-speed service area, it is recommended that you set the charging target to 85-95% in advance, although the mileage has been reduced, but the overall relative impact will not be too large, so that when the voltage is unstable, it will not have an impact on our car.

During this self-driving trip during the National Day holiday, I encountered a charging failure alarm prompt when charging in the high-speed service area. This time, my self-driving destination is Nanjing, which is 1100 kilometers long and needs to be charged twice in the service area. At the time of the first charging, I went down to the service area and came to the State Grid charging station, and found that the parking spaces were full, and everyone had basically just been charged. I just drove for a few hours, I don't want to wait, there happens to be a NIO car charging station next to it, basically empty, thinking that you can set off after about 40 minutes of charging, and you don't have to wait for the charging pile of the State Grid anymore, so you don't have to delay time.

But when the charging level reached 56%, I was still in the service area, and my phone received a notification that the charging stopped, and I saw that the battery level did not reach the value I set, so I decided to go out and have a look, and as I walked to the parking lot, I received a notification from the BMW App showing the drivetrain check and the battery check.

When I entered the car, I saw that I forgot to adjust the charging value, and it was still in 100% state, and the charging match between the NIO charging pile and the BMW car was not so high, so this problem would occur, and this failure occurred when I was staying in a Beijing hotel before, and I used to charge a charging pile that I don't remember the name, and then I returned to Taiyuan and found no problem after checking in the BMW 4S store.

My solution is that after unplugging the charging cable, if the car can start and drive normally, it is usually not too much of a problem, if the car cannot start, or can not continue driving, I can only contact BMW Rescue.

Since I still have about 2/3 of the road to go, and it is at night, I didn't get off the highway, and when the second range was about to end and I needed to recharge, I chose the State Grid charging pile to charge the vehicle to 95% until I reached the destination. At this time, the vehicle fault is still prompting, you can continue to drive and check the vehicle, arrive at the hotel and then come to the charging area, the hotel has fast charging, slow charging two kinds of charging piles, I choose slow charging, and set the vehicle charging target to 100%, lock the car back to the room to sleep, and when you wake up, you will find that the fault displayed in front has all disappeared.

After the self-driving tour, I went back to the 4S store for inspection normally, and as I expected, there was no problem, and the fault code was eliminated, and I could drive normally with confidence. It is recommended that you choose regular charging equipment such as the State Grid and special calls when you charge daily or self-driving high-speed charging, and use other non-compatible brands of charging piles will inevitably encounter some problems, and some serious situations will also endanger the safety of the vehicle, reduce the charging efficiency, and cause damage to our car. The use of regular charging equipment can basically avoid some unnecessary problems, which will affect our driving safety and car experience.
