On September 26-27, the 2024 Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion Project Construction Management and Technology Innovation Exchange Conference was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The exchange meeting gathered nearly 700 experts and scholars in the highway industry, relying on the reconstruction and expansion project of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway from Henan and Hubei to Junshan in Hubei Province, the project is about 157.79 kilometers long, and the whole line adopts the reconstruction and expansion scheme of the two-way eight-lane expressway standard of "two sides of the widening, local separation and widening of the new", to promote the innovation of construction technology and management, and to help the quality development of the expressway.
On the afternoon of the 27th, the experts at the meeting went to the site of the 4th bid section of the project to observe, and the project owner Hubei Trading Investment, the general contractor of the project, China Railway 11th Bureau, and the construction unit Liaoning Guotai Road and Bridge and Sany Heavy Industry jointly completed the large-width pavement unmanned cluster intelligent paving and rolling operation.
Under the witness of industry experts, the Sany UAV group successfully completed the industry's first demonstration of the largest width pavement and the largest unmanned paving construction, marking a new level of intelligent construction of mainland highway construction.
Ultra-large-scale unmanned cluster construction, efficient coordination of standard operations, and improvement of construction quality
High-speed surface layer construction has extremely high requirements for rolling equipment and operation technology. This time, a number of Sany high-end unmanned pavement equipment were adopted, including a 20-meter large-width paver, six 13-ton tandem rollers, and three 30-ton rubber tyre rollers, forming a huge construction machine group with a lineup of 1+3+3+3, and relying on the intelligent scheduling algorithm to realize the standardized operation of the machine group.
The Beidou centimeter-level high-precision positioning system and self-built low-latency communication network realize the real-time optimal path planning of the machine group in strict accordance with the requirements of the rolling process, realize the "close follow the slow pressure", avoid leakage and undervoltage, and ensure the quality of rolling.

What is particularly striking is that the SAP200C-10 large-width unmanned paver dispatched by Sany this time has achieved one-time paving with a paving width of 19.25 meters in the actual construction, which is the first time in the field of domestic and international road construction.

Welt compaction accuracy is an important assessment dimension of roller operation skills, and experienced operators may have edge pressure leakage or damage to the curb.
The Sany UAV group applied in this project realizes the accurate identification and positioning of curbstones through high-precision path tracking algorithms and self-developed fusion high-precision self-perception positioning system, and truly achieves "0" welt operation. There is no need for small roller trimming operations, and the pavement is formed at one time, which greatly improves the operation efficiency and quality.
Redundant safety design to ensure safe operation
Site safety is a top priority, and safety is even more important for drone swarms. By obtaining all the operating status of all equipment and surrounding obstacle information in real time, the unmanned amortization machine group is equipped with multiple redundant safety protection strategies such as collaborative safety, electronic fence, tight stop system and perception obstacle avoidance system, which can realize real-time equipment deceleration, suspension and tight stop actions according to the risk level to ensure the safety of operation.
