First stop: Qinglong Town Ruins
Qinglong Town is the earliest trade port in Shanghai, which was built in the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty and is an important node of the Maritime Silk Road and an important foreign trade port in the Yangtze River Delta. The ruins of Qinglong Town are national cultural heritage, according to historical records, Qinglong Town has two temples in the north and south, Longfu Temple is the South Temple, and its temple tower is still standing today, commonly known as Qinglong Tower. However, the Longping Temple and the Longping Temple Pagoda in the north of Qinglong Town are little known.
In 2015, the archaeological team found the base of the Longping Temple in the historical record of Qinglong Town in the site of Qinglong Town, the tower of Longping Temple was built in the Tiansheng period of the Northern Song Dynasty, collapsed in the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, it is a seven-level pagoda, the base plane of the tower is octagonal, the site preserves the key parts such as scattered water, corner pillars, and the base of the sub-level treasure lotus column, and also preserves the complete underground palace in the Northern Song Dynasty, which is of great value for the study of the folk Buddhist beliefs and relics burial system at that time.
With the silting up of the Wusong River, its port function gradually dissipated, and Qinglong Town was hidden in the tide of history, replaced by today's modern metropolis Shanghai, where you can find the historical context and cultural roots of Shanghai's development.
Second stop: Wan'an Bridge
Water culture and ancient culture are Qingpu's business cards, and the ancient bridge is the link between the two. According to records, there are 22 bridges in Qinglong Town, and Wan'an Bridge is one of them. Wan'an Bridge, also known as "Qin Bridge" and "City God's Temple Bridge", was built in the Yuan Yanyou period (1314-1320), with the style of Song Bridge, although the whole bridge is small, but it looks simple and dignified. This 700-year-old bridge, as its name suggests, ensures that the people of one side are "safe" smoothly.
Third stop: Tangwan Bridge
In Baihe, there is still such a ballad: "Zhou Xiuying, the heroine of the female middle school, has big red pants and a small tight body; With a big knife in his hand, he killed four gates on the Tangwan Bridge and killed 300 Qing soldiers. It is the story of Zhou Xiuying, the daughter of Zhou Lichun, the leader of the peasant uprising in Tangwan Village, Baihe Town, during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, who fought with the Qing soldiers on the Tangwan Bridge.
Tangwan Bridge, formerly known as Qingze Bridge, is located in Tangwan Village, Baihe Town, east-west, across the Aiqi River in the east of the village, built in the 23rd year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1595), rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty, is a single-hole stone arch bridge. Stepping on this ancient stone bridge with a history of more than 400 years, the historical situation seems to pass by in front of you.
